El Valle Restaurant — Restaurant in New York

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE. I want to say that they just offer terrible service but i think that’s being nice, they (the ladies at the front) seem to be flat out racist towards anyone that is not Dominican. I have been ignored the 3x that i’ve gone there. I only returned this last time because i honestly forgot i hate going there as i haven’t visited in over a year and was just hungry trying to get food. I had been standing there for 20 minutes trying to get someone’s attention and they all looked at me and kept walking away so i finally managed to speak to someone who walked close to me and they literally responded with “oh i wish i could help you but honestly i have other things to do and if i decided to help everyone i would go crazy” ??? sorry if i’m confused but when going into a food establishment it is expected to have some communication with the staff to get an order, i then asked who is supposed to help me i've been waiting here and she literally sighed and started another task. I ordered food to be picked up and had to wait 40 minutes to receive said food from a man in a delivery uniform, his job wasn’t to help me but because no one else wanted to help me he stepped in. I was already asking for a refund when he popped up and said oh this is your food. He did not need to help me and spoke to me kindly when everyone else who were supposed to help me went out of there way to ignore me. One thing is to be busy and another is to be rude and ignore customers, mind you they had asked how long it was going to take us to get there and that because others had not gone to pick up their food we had to pay over the phone, which was not a problem but if you ask how long for us to get there and we tell you we are about 10 minutes away at least tell me there’s a longer wait or something. I don’t think this was the case though as many people (dominicans) were entering and leaving with the same food i had ordered. I did get rude at the end when asking for my refund and i think justifiably so but then the man came up to me with the food so i just grabbed my food and left. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT...

I have visited a couple of times because I haven't found that many options of spanish food in the area 🤡

Other than that, there isn't really a reason for me to go back

I don't find their dishes as tasty as many other El Valle locations - I have ordered their pernil a couple of times, and it is always lacking salt.

We have tried their roasted chicken, chicharron, moro, yuquita and guineitos, beans, maduritos and tuna salad... portions are really good but we didn't really find anything special about these dishes either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Regarding the service, the first time I visited them the service was so slow that I almost felt like leaving - the line to order was really disorganized, then they had to bring the food to your table after having ordered and they took FOREVER - to get the bill was another story 😂

Last time I visited this week the service was way better - we ordered two pernil lunch plates with rice and beans + one side of maduritos to share + one side of tuna salad + 1 bottle of water and it made USD$42 including a tip.

Regarding the atmosphere - nothing special about it but always really hot despite having AC 🫠

My favorite thing in the whole place was the pinha colada (really really good 👍🏻)

In conclusion, not my favorite El Valle location 🤷🏻‍♀️ not really planning to ever go back - would just pass by literally to get a pinha colada...

My daughter went in to purchase food and they acted like they didn’t speak or understand any english. Or that they didn’t know what was on their menu. So while my daughter is still trying to get an order in. They completely ignored her and moved on to another customer. She had me on face time and I know for a fact they speak english because I went in there 3 wks ago and the same women up front took my order. So I proceeded to call on the phone to place my order and received the same rude service. She said she didn’t speak english but answered my questions when I spoke to her in english. Then proceeded to hang up on me. Not only will I be writing a review on here. I will be also filing a complaint with the BBB. Now don’t get me wrong if I spoke fluent spanish ( which I’m trying to learn) then I would have just done that. And if I knew for a fact they didn’t know any english. That wouldn’t have been a problem either, but the fact that I know they understand it. Is what has me absolutely livid of how rude my daughter and I were treated. So they will be hearing from the...
