I had the misfortune to visit this DMV today. It was a colossal ghetto popping disaster. It's sad to see these people at work. Firstly, when I looked up the hours of operation on their website. The hours were listed as Mon - Friday 8am -4pm. I got there about 10 mins to 8am. Found a handful of folks out there. We all huddled under shared umbrellas and whatever shelter we could find. Since it had started to rain.As the time slid pass 8am we all began to wonder why the doors weren't being opened up. So upon closer inspection. We saw that they didn't actually open at 8am. The traffic and violations dept opens for business at 8:30 am. On Thursdays the other dept which handles licensing, testing, registering and every other things opens up at 10am. This informatiin is not readily available on the website or by calling the number. You'd actually have to go take a look on the door to learn this. While we were all standing outside (myself and about 50 other persons. I decided to call the number listed on their website. I was very luckily to have gotten a young lady who informed me she could do anything about it. Since I was asking that she kindly inform her supervisor to alert the powers that be. That the info on the website was not accurate. So customers could be better informed. I was told it would be quite okay for me to go online and file a report. I hung up. Eventually we were allowed to enter. I got my number which was C901. I sat and waited I heard C900 then eventually heard C902. I figured we were probably getting different things done. It kept going on without my number being called. She i approached on of the girls that was handing out the tickets. Well she told me it was impossible since the numbers were always called in order. She told the guy working the customer service counter. He said it was called and he would put it back in. I thanked her and took a seat. Well it got to C914. Not to mention other numbers were being called. I waited and I waited. So I eventually approached the customer service rep directly. I told him of my troubles. He informed me in a very manner not cause I didn't hear it means it wasn't called all the while talking over me. However he did tske the time to tell me my number was the next one. I waited for about 5 more numbers before being called. I did not create a scene since it was not gonna be to my benefit. I was due at my children's school for pick up at 11:30am time was of the essence and definitely not in my favor. Finally it was my turn. I very quickly approached the rep and stated my for the dau. I was here to turn in my regular plates for some TLC plates. I had my plate letter from TLC, FH-1 insurance, my bill of sale and my drivers license. My happiness at finally been quickly came to an end. Madam representative could not find my TLC letter in her system. She went to her supervisor and I should think informed him. She eventually came back to me informing me that her supervisor was going to look into in and whenever he came back she'd let me know what he found out at the same time handing me back all of my paperwork. I observed her making another trip to her supervisor when the next customer handed in his paperwork. It dawned on me she might have great need for a babysitter. So I took it upon myself to call the TLC and asked for help. Since I was unsure about the competency of her supervisor too. And I didn't have all day. I quickly got onto a Rep at the TLC name was Alicia. She was confused as to why my plate letter couldn't have been found in the system since it was generated the previous day. She put me in hold to consult with her supervisor and she what they could've done to help me. She offered to call if That DMV supervisor would give a number. He refused to do that. She give her number instead. Once again he refused. I went into my TLC log in to check my application status and show him the account and the letter and the man said he could not verify none of it. I was flabbergasted. The evidence all of it was in black and white. He went and stood at his desk...
Read moreI am a resident from Florida and have been since 2010. I got pulled over by the police two years ago when I was on vacation for being on my phone. I paid the ticket and did not know of a DRA suspension that was put on my license. The officer attached this ticket to a NYC address that I had while I was in college instead of the address that is printed on my current license. I never knew about the suspension of my driving privileges in New York State and was pulled over, arrested, sent to booking and put in the worst possible conditions even though I have never been arrested and this was my first offense and truly an honest mistake that I did not know about. I went to the DMV on March 28th, 2019 and at approximately 11am my ticket was called. The representative Gwen Vasquez shut me down immediately as I was trying to explain my situation so that I could get the correct guidance on what to do. She said that "she didn’t want to hear all that and to get to the point". She did not explain the difference between the minimum payment and full assessment on my DRA suspension ticket, I noticed the full assessment on the document she handed to me and had to ask the difference in price. If I had not asked that my driving privileges to drive in New York State would still be suspended and I would not have known that I still owed money to the DMV and state. I had to ask her multiple times to update my address in the system even though that was the first thing I brought to her attention and the main cause of my arrest since I had never received any notification about this ticket. She never informed me if my driving privileges were valid or not. When I basically finished doing her job for her all the while feeling stress and discomfort because she clearly did not want to be there or help assist me in any way, I told her to try to have some compassion and understanding for people in their situations and she responded by telling me that "she didn’t need to have any compassion for anyone". At that point I asked her for her name because I wanted to report her behavior to a supervisor due to her insensitivity and lack of caring to do the job that she was hired for. She refused to give me her name or get a supervisor and said "awe man this guy again". I had to wait in another line just to speak to a supervisor, when I finally did I spoke to Lauren Thomas. Lauren was completely professional and caring, she made sure that I left knowing that everything was taken care of and that my driving privileges were indeed valid. I am writing this review because Gwen Vasquez was completely unprofessional, did not want to do her job and she lacked a caring value that she should have when working and dealing with people. After everything that I went through I should not have been treated like this and I want to make sure that no one else is treated with the disrespect and unprofessionalism that I had to deal with. To whom it may concern, I thank you...
Read moreToday, Thursday March 13, 2025, I got Disability plates at the Springfield Gardens, NY DMV. God was with me! First they let me in the door without an appointment. Then though all appointments were booked, the gentleman who was passing out appointment tickets gave me one to the end of the queue. The lady at my window with red hair helped me. Gave me time to get my plates off my car and come back. They held my place so I could have someone take off the old plates on the car to hand them in to get the new plates. The guard said to speak with the parking attendant maybe to remove them. He tried but was not able to but then I asked a man, Frank, walking nearby and parked near me in a truck. He had Tools and Tools and agreed to remove them. Took a while because the bolts were rusted frozen. Took the plates back but DMV WAS CLOSED. The doorman said all stations were closed. I was at the sidewalk leaving when that guard who I spoke to earlier called me back and let me in. The three ladies, Masina, Kera & Shauni Kwa, that helped me before were still there. They helped me with the additional paperwork that was needed, even filled it out for me to sign. They turned into angels 😇 ✨️. So two men, three ladies, a guard, a tollbooth man tried to help but his tools were missing. Then, Frank, with a brown pickup truck with many tools who had just lost his case but went out of his way to help me. He found the right socket to remove the bolts. They were rusted so he sprayed them with brake cleaner. He even wiped the resdidue because brake cleaner is highly corrosive. He waited till I came back with the new plates and put them on. He refused to take any money. Said it made him feel good after his bad experience with the judge. So it took two men (doorman, DMV window ticket giver), three black ladies working at the stations, one Latin guard, a parking attendant, a big "redneck" white man with a big heart!!! (May be a hunter as well! 😃) to make this happen! It needed all of them for this to work! (I use Redneck and Hunter as a compliment!!!) The Holy Spirit made them all angels 😇 to help an old guy with a cane and back brace. At every obstacle, there was an angel 😇 that looked like normal folks! There is a reason they say God is good ALL the time ⏲️! "Proverbs 10:22 RSV-CE The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it." May God's blessings shower upon them! They all had good hearts! If you have to go to the DMV, I recommend this location highly!!! Raphael You never know when you will run in to an Angel 😇 but when you do, you know it. Remain positive in every negative occurance and The Most High will turn it...
