When I first started working in Jamaica, I had to wrap my head about how remote it is vs working in the city. I don't come here often because I normally bring my own lunch, but the last two times within the last two weeks have been a let down. There is an attitude with the sandwich makers. The toaster oven doesn't always work, of course the grill is shut down at 2 so one would expect the toaster to work.
Today, I received the "free chips", the bag was open on the bottom. Of course the cashier didn't know. I didn't know until I got to my office. They are exacting, everything is an issue. Can't ask for an extra stale pickle without the attitude.. The chicken salad doesn't taste fresh as it usually does. I do feel like they act like they're doing me a favor when I am spending my hard earned money. This will be my last time coming here. I'd rather drive out to the other local mom and pop stores, Dunkin Donuts,or all the way to Panera Bread. For the prices they overcharge, the delis in the city will knock them out the box. I am working on getting back to the city lol but for now I will no longer be dining here when I want to pleasure my palate
It's unfortunate but my money will no longer be wasted here. I did in fact call to let the cashier know that the bag was open and to check the other bags of chips left. I got no apologies nor a thank you. So yah that's my last. I also got sick this evening from the chicken sandwich I ate and am now recovering. Luckily it was mild enough that I didn't have to get my stomach pumped. That chicken sandwich wasn't fresh.
They also nickel and dime you and a couple times I had to make sure they followed their...
Read moreThis place was nicknamed Jose's idk why but that's what it's called at JFK. Retro fitted diner serving up hearty portions of deli and comfort food. The food is made fresh to order so there will be a wait but it's worth it. If you like a hero go for Bourbon Street wtap but on a Hero toasted. They have excellent burgers , nice thick burgers on a toasted bun , crispy fries, and homemade mac and cheese with the crunchy cheese top layer, get that for lunch you will not regret it. If you work in the vicinity of JFK Airport this is a Must for lunch once.....or maybe twice a week. They also have tender meatloaf and some of the best pulled pork this side of the Van Wyck, had to give it 4 out of 5 stars for the bathroom. If your gonna eat in either go before you come or wait till you get back and I'll...
Read moreThe slowest service ever !!! It took more than 20 mins for corned beef hash with two eggs potatoes and toast. They call corned beef hash and 2 eggs a platter for $6. But I had to pay an extra $1 for potatoes and toast which would make it a platter. When I asked about my food they said corned beef hash takes time to cook. The place is clean but they do not wrap their food in the window or their meat. Disgusting! Not the way to have food stored. They look like they get a lot of business but they won't be getting any...
