Out of state DMV Service — Attraction in New York

I waited in line for 2 hours for registration of a vehicle that was purchased privately and typically you do not need a copy of the seller driver's license, but they told me that DMV has mandated Express DMV to have a copy of this during COVID-19. So since this was not available they would NOT be able to express my registration. I paid the extra fee for express service and I would get a text within 2-3 weeks to pick up the new registration. It's over a month and I still do not have it. I visited the location twice for some updates since I wasn't able to get anyone over the phone. The first time I was told that she was going to call DMV and find out what was going on and she was going to call me back since DMV in Albany takes 2 hour lunch breaks. I never received a return call. The second time I went there he said that the paperwork is still in Albany and it might take another week or two and apologize that there was nothing more he could do. I would think that they would have a contact where they could communicate questions, issues since they represent the DMV. But I guess NOT. They have no idea to what's going on. So now my hands are tied. My paperwork is in DMV limbo and all I can do is be patient. So frustrating!! So my advice to all... be ready to wait in line outside for a couple of hours, pay with cash, and the 2 week turn-around time is false. I wish I knew months ago that dmv express could help you with the title… I wouldn’t be in the predicament I was in today… guess what I just chose it because of the title issues… and the dealership told me earlier today not to go because they couldn’t help me that I needed to go to the dmv… I went anyway… bad reviews I don’t know why… Eddie is the best… very knowledgeable… professional and willing to help… the female and the other guy in the front very polite and helpful as well… I didn’t care about the wait because of my case… a little complicated… but Eddie helped and gave me solutions and I got out of there with my reg and plates… being that it is Saturday of course… these people waited until everyone had their regs and plates to close… wow… they close at 2… they were there until 5… I will definitely send people there and will go myself again… no matter the commute or the wait see it as you are getting out of there with your paper done… every case is different… they won’t waste your...

If I could have given no stars I would have. After going there since September 2020 to get my plates re registered to my newly owned car I’ve only now gotten through and it was Terrific! I called them in janurary 2021 for an update and the lady advised me that I did not submit all my documents and that’s why nothing was done. So had not I called them no one would have reached out to me to let me know I had missing documents.

Finally after being back and forth with them from Jan through February the lady (CHRISTAL) ensured me as soon as me registration is there she would be sure to call me. I have not heard anything today I called WAAA LAAA it was ready. But yet still if I had not called today no one would have reached out.
