West Side Park — Attraction in Newark

I work out here in the mornings and I never had a problem. When I do go its in the mornings. I can not attest for the afternoon or evening hours because I work those hours. The park is operated and maintained by the County of Essex.

The park includes, Football field Baseball field Basketball court Rubberized quarter mile running track properly marked. Small walking trail. A steep but short hill just in case you want to do short distance Hill Sprints or just relax. A community center. And a play area for the happy little people.

Because its in Newark People have their opinions dont go by folks reserve especially if they never went there themself. Just go for yourself and if you like it then you like it and if you dont...

Tried to start community programming here. I kept getting the run around or no responses after stopping by in person and emailing. I’m not sure why this huge center was put up if residents are not able to use it. It seems as if the only programs they want here are food giveaways and voting stations but we need more to better our future. Additionally this center is monopolized by The United Community Corporation non profit. I was told by an employee that they focus on their own programming and don’t really care to collaborate with residents for programming that we are interested in. I like the park it is very big it has a track field soccer and football field in one it also has a baseball field it has a Rec Center with basketball court, computer lab and other play area next to the rec center they have about for half basketball court and a full tennis court. On the other side of the rec center was where I spend most of my time today in the kids play area the equipments are clean, sturdy and well maintained.
