Listen here, I had to think long and hard about writing a review, especially one that was not going to be very flattering. However, after speaking w/quite a few people (most of whom had a similar experience w/OMG), I decided to share my experience w/full transparency.
So let's get to it...my experience was downright HORRIBLE! Let me explain as best I can w/o being too lengthy (if that's possible).
Ok, I am a foodie, and will travel anywhere for good food/service. My family also owned a restaurant so I totally understand what it takes to make a restaurant successful. W/that said, from the moment I walked in people were complaining about the wait. U could literally cut the tension in the air w/a knife. Now, I don't mind waiting because good food takes time...so I'm ok w/that. However, many of the people did not feel the same way. They may have ordered 1 or 2 small things and had to wait nearly an hour...so they were very upset.
When I finally get to the register I asked if they had real or imitation crab meat. The young lady (who was great) said she did not know and to let her ask (which was the appropriate thing to do). A little guy w/dreads gave her attitude when she asked the question. So I then asked, and he replied that it was real crab meat. Now I am starting to get annoyed because the bad customer service reviews that I read prior to going are starting to show face. I finally place my order and go wait outside. While outside many of the people going in and out are complaining about either the wait or the service...I mean mostly everyone (no exaggeration).
People who left and came back nearly an hour later still found that their food was not ready. One older lady ordered 2 items but they only gave her one and made her wait for the other. Why not have both ready at the same time? That didn't make sense! Anyhow, the elderly woman also mad because people who had come in and ordered way after she did, got their food first. She was not happy, to say the least.
So I would go back and forth between the waiting area and outside so I could check on my food. One time doing so, the little guy w/the dreads was mumbling and no one knew what he was saying. He looked my way and I didn't respond because I had no clue what he was saying. Finally, we realized that he was calling a name (which no one understood). He then turns to the owner and makes some seemingly unprofessional comments, and they both start giggling like school kids. It was very disrespectful as well as a complete turn-off. Then, they turn on the music (gangsta rap w/the curses), and blast it like they're in a club. People couldn't hear u before, so y would u would blast music now. As the music blasted, the owner was putting on an all out concert. How can u sing, rap and dance over people's food while ur cooking....and it's super hot in there? So now it's ok to spit and drip sweat in people's food? Unbelievable!
So as I sit there staring at them, they continue to mumble things about me (I assume). Because I was not happy by any means. I was sitting w/a few ladies and they were appalled w/the service and behavior as well. One said she and her husband experienced the same thing a few days earlier, and the other lady said she'd never come back.
When I finally got my food (after 40 plus minutes or so), I noticed that my container was very messy. They just throw U a bag to bag ur own food, and when some people told me to check how it looked....I was mortified. My food looked nothing like the pictures...i mean nowhere close. I was on 🔥! I will post pictures so u guys can see what i'm talking about.
Also, when the guy brought my food up he said to the owner, this is his...which really disturbed me. If he was cooking, how did he know what I ordered? Did u purposely mess up my food or do something to it? And I'm not implying that he or anyone did. However, when have such poor customer service, people are cussing and acting inappropriately, it makes u think the worst.
In closing, I want them to succeed but they have to do better. Extremely disappointed!
