This is a beautiful theatre space. My one time experience here wasn't good but I think it was a freak thing and it had more to do with other patrons and city work than the theatre, performers, or those working the box office and concessions. Everyone working was very nice. The city was doing some work down the street and the electricity went out for a good 15 minutes, two songs before intermission. The other patrons at this particular performance were at best, ignorant of theatre etiquette and at worst, just incredibly rude. People moved from the front row to the concession stand and back in the middle of songs, texted in the front row and liked swim suit models' instagrams and watched mma on their phones during song performances. I would strongly recommend having a brief etiquette overview at the top of every performance AND having a house manager who isn't afraid of conflict enforcing the expectations and asking people to leave or at least put their phones away during the performances.
That being said, I would give the theatre the benefit of the doubt, assume these aren't typical occurrences and give it another opportunity...
