I absolutely respect businesses that target a certain audience. But the moment you hear "get the [F-Bomb] out of here your kind is not welcome here" from the white male bartenders and the patrons sit in silence...is the day that America should just allow these business owners to put a WHITES ONLY sign on their door...it truly saves people a lot of time and unnecessary negative interactions. Figaro...it is clear that you would only prefer White Patrons because you said that to me in a crowded room for everyone to here and that is ok. The best thing I could ever do as a black woman is spend my green dollars SOMEWHERE ELSE...I don't know if you have heard but black people have quite a bit of options out here now ๐ ๐๐พ so we don't need to start a march for inclusion anymore.
It was hilarious to see the one bartender pretend to call the police ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธafter the threat of calling them and i told him to please do so as i am not a felon or have any warrants, have broken no laws and have proof of what he said to me...yup...i can't wait until the law shows up...๐ ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ
There are many businesses that will fail and this is clearly one that will fail soon enough with the angry unhappy undereducated ignorant middle aged white racist men running the show...When you have racism as the core of your business model you will never be more than a small town nobody with very limited growth potential. Stay just that way though because it removes you as a true competitor for the rest of us. ๐๐พ.
I highly recommend black people stay away from this bar...as the bartenders noted "our kind is not welcome" WOW. You have been warned ๐ฒ๐ค. I didn't think I would ever hear something like that in my lifetime...but welcome to Bar Figaro in...
ย ย ย Read moreMy family and I were coming into town for a funeral, and I had decided that this looked like the perfect place to go for a drink. We were all so excited upon reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of the bar itself, however when we walked in we were bombarded at the door about ID's. No big deal and completely understandable, however upon ordering an Old Fashioned from the bar tender, he looked at me and said, "oh a big boy drink, huh?" In the most condescending tone I have heard in my life. Coming from a background in customer service, and knowing that I was a paying customer, it felt like a slap in the face. This was on night one. Night two we walked in and AGAIN were bombarded about ID's. Annoying at that point because Newberry isn't a big town at all and it was the same person as that night before. After we once again proved that we were all of age, we sat down and ordered a round of beers. After ordering, my family members were accused of STEALING 2 of the 6 beers we had ordered. This, of course, was a misunderstanding, as there was a high school reunion taking place when we walked in. The tab was fixed and all was good until AGAIN we were accused of stealing a drink! My family member had to stand at the bar, jumping up and down and waving her arms to get the attention of the bartender. After this we left and will NEVER be back. The bartenders were as rude as could be, the drinks were sub par, however the band was great! Thank you for ruining a funeral and celebration of life, for the last time we will ever be...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst things first . The bartenders here are all very professional and are honed in their craft. Second best thing, is they are all very friendly and personable, and really just want to serve you the very best drink possible. A beautiful back bar sets the atmosphere for this well appointed, previous, old timey drug store renovation. As a consumer and occasional patron, that's the best of both worlds. I will challenge anyone to find a better bar selection in a town of 10K folks, period. They offer a small, but excellent, light food menu until around 10ish every night. They often have daily or weekly drink specials featuring new products and personal concoctions, so there is always something new for the adventurous crowd . My opinion says they strive for excellence . They might not have 50 different single malt scotches to choose from like a larger municipality, but they might have 12-15 great choices that will cover most anyone's palate. And so on, with every category of fine spirits for your liking. Throw in quality live music most every weekend, and very rarely with a cover, and this just completes a great atmosphere whether you're a local or just visiting in town for the night. From time to time, they do have local name bands, and it's best to call ahead for reserved seating. Overall though, this is just a great place to knock off the dust, unwind a notch or two, and enjoy a quality cocktail prepared by folks who take pride in...
