New England Diamond and Jewelry Buyers — Attraction in Newton

I recently became the Personal Representative of my aunt estate and had several pieces of jewelry to appraise and sell. I went to New England Diamond and Jewelry Buyers, 660 Washington Street, Newton, MA as my first place of business. The Owner, Mr. David Alpert was so patient in going over every piece of jewelry by explaining the descriptions of stones, size, and criteria used to evaluate the value of each piece of jewelry. The Co-owner Len was also extremely helpful in evaluating watches, coins, and other pieces of items that needed to be appraised. They both treated me like I knew them all along. They both were so professional and knowledgeable in the field as well as I felt they were honest with me. I did up front inform them I will be going to two others places to get these jewelry appraised and they said that was understandable. After going to two other Jewelry buyers no one treated me like this company and they were not even close to the offer that New England Diamond and Jewelry Buyers offered. Not only did they give me the best price for my jewelry but they were true professionals. Due to this type of service I received from New England Diamond and Jewelry Buyers I informed them that I would like for them to come to my home to evaluate other items I would personally like to sell. They set up an appointment, came to my home and were true professionals. Again, I feel I received a very good and fair deal for the items that I sold at my home, such as jewelry, coins, cameras, sporting items, to name a few.

In all my dealings with Mr. Alpert and Len, they both always demonstrated true professionalism, enthusiasm, energy, versatility, and commitment in all their endeavors with me. Both of them are sincere/honest Appraisals which is surely hard to find these days and they go far beyond than what was expected of them.

In today business world, customer satisfaction is our main concern. Went in to see what I could get for an old engagement ring. Knowing I was desperate or else I wouldn’t be going in public during a pandemic, to sell jewelry. I knew exactly how precious the piece I had was, I was aware of it’s worth. They start right off by trying to convince you the markets down. Regardless of that not being the case. That is their game. So I left there feeling taken advantage of. Not only am I handicapped and in a wheelchair which people take advantage of most of the time, but I’m also in a rough and desperate situation. So leaving there with the feeling I had, it left me feeling upset. So I called the very next day to see if I could buy it back because a private buyer offered me much more and they simply said “no Indian givers” and hung up. Robert was so wonderful to work with. He made me feel like I was coming to a family member for help, and took his time with everything I came in for.

I came to him as a walk-in, with a few odds and ends, needing to verify a gemstone was a diamond, a repair, and selling a gold ring.

The custom repair he was able to do was for such a good price, and he was able to do it so quickly.

Robert also made the process of selling some old rings very easy and not stressful at all. I'd never sold jewelry before, but he took the time to explain to me what the values were of the pieces I had, and then left it up to me to sell them.

I plan to go here for all my jewelry needs going forward, for anyone reading this, you don't need to go anywhere else!
