Recently went for the first time and never again. I went in and ordered the cheeseburger that was $10.29. When the bill came I noticed I was being charged $14.59. I quickly let our server Bella know that I had ordered the $10 burger. She proceeds to tell me that there’s no way I could have ordered a burger for $10. She brings the menu and I point to the cheeseburger sandwich which she then tells me “ohhh you should have said sandwich”. Mind you there are three different cheeseburger options (sandwich, sub, angus beef). Even though I showered her what I wanted from the menu she was still insisting that the burger is what she gave me and I have to pay for it. So I keep telling her that this wasn’t what I had originally ordered and that I even pointed to it when she took our order. Her response “oh sorry I wasn’t paying attention”. I then specify to her that I didn’t say a cheeseburger sub or the angus burger when placing my order, she proceeds to tell me “oh well the cheeseburger sandwich also has angus beef”. It felt like no matter what I said she was constantly giving me push back. Instead of saying sorry let me fix that she was forcing me to pay for something I didn’t order. And mind you since this was my first time I didn’t catch it initially but the only difference between the cheeseburger sandwich and their angus beef burgers is the bun. Sandwich comes with a sesame seed bun and the angus beef ones come on a brioche bun. But at the end of the day they were both burgers. The fact that she constantly gave me push back and had an excuse for everything was just plain rude. Either retrain your servers to know the menu and reconfirm what it is that the guest is ordering, or fix your menu which your servers clearly don’t understand. On top of everything that same night the burger did not sit well with me that it caused me to throw up violently. I only had half my burger and fries and ended up feeling really sick. The only reason that this was not escalated to the manager was because the friend I was with does not like confrontation and paid the bill. But our friend who recommended this place was upset to hear of my experience and agreed that if he was there he would have escalated further. My first time visiting that was recommended to me and sadly...
Read moreGreat restaurant for breakfast or lunch! Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food they're serving. The servers are friendly and accommodating. They were very understanding about my parent who has dementia.... Served her soup as soon as it was ready as requested, brought more hot chocolate as needed and they waved every time my mother waved at them. As my teenaged daughter says: "they know how to serve old people."
The food was very good. I had their berry strudel French toast (lots of fresh strawberries and strawberry ricotta cheese on challah French toast) was absolutely delicious - I liked it without syrup. The rest of my party had corned beef hash and eggs, cheeseburger, panini, and lemon chicken rice soup. All was so good, we didn't have any leftovers!
Metered street parking only.
Handicap access: zero steps (ramped entryway); everything, including large bathrooms,...
Read moreWe lived in Newtonville for 3 years before ever going to Village and I regret it more than I can explain! If I knew such a delicious breakfast spot was within walking distance from my house I would have been there every weekend. Fortunately we found it before I got pregnant so I was able to spend 9 months nom-ing on delicious hash, home fries and omelets before we moved over to Auburndale. Luckily we're not far so we can still make trips over to Village on the weekend. The staff is super friendly, the coffee is great. We even tried out dinner recently with my entire family and we were blown away by the high quality food and the portion size! This is a place I will come to again and again and never get sick of. The only recommendation I have for them is to bring down the spice level of the bloody marys - too hot to enjoy (and I like...
