Thankful that people have started leashing dogs here!!! Unlike the characterization of another reviewer, there are more than just “uptight” people and hooligans in the world. As someone who is medically fragile, and would be hurt by a friendly dog just as easily as a not friendly dog, I am grateful. No dog parent has the right to presume that all humans either want to have a dog in their space OR would be safe doing so. It’s a selfish supposition. Leash your damn dogs. It’s not just the decent human thing to do (common courtesy and all that comes with sharing a space that is NOT your back yard), it is also the law. It is a requirement that shouldn’t have to be stated, but IS, and explicitly so, for all DCR parks. Due to the leashing of dogs, I was able to explore here!!! I can’t physically climb the stairs or go far on the path but I’d love to bring my nieces and nephews here. They’d go wild at the ability to see to the top of this!!!!

Dogs on leash are welcome here, as they have been for years. However, as neighbors have complained thru the years about off-leash dogs, the "vibe" here has become more uptight, especially during the good weather. Here's the deal: hardly anyone walks here without a dog. The people who do come are often teenagers who are doing some "extracurricular" activities, as well as destroying park equipment, burning fires, and leaving their trash behind for those dog owners to pick up. Who would you rather have in your park: inconsiderate teenagers or concerned "people of the dog"?

A nice little gem tucked along the Charles River between Auburndale and Waltham. The Auburndale Cove area is nice, always seems to be busy and full of kids, and the walking/running trail takes you all the way into Waltham with lovely views of the river and some of the buildings of Brandeis. Keep heading along the river and you end up at Moody Street after running alongside the old Watch Factory and the train tracks... and you can then connect with the trails that take you all the...
