Irritating when you go in there to buy a specific title, I’m new to switch. I saw doom eternal was a new release. Called ahead of time and asked if they have the new doom for switch, and specifically mentioned that I was looking for the latest option. They said oh yeah we have lots of new titles for the switch. So I made the drive to the store. Upon getting to the store I see doom on the shelf priced $10 higher than anywhere else, a whopping $69. Now I like supporting local businesses and all and a huge fan of doom games so I was half tempted to still purchase this game. I did however inquire why their price was higher and they replied because no where else has them. So he proceeded to do a price check and says “oh looks like we are under priced. I’m going to raise the price to $85.” And starts grabbing all 4 doom games they had off the shelf right before me to mark them up even more, also making it to where I couldn’t get a clear look at the label..I figured at $69 dollars now to $85 it had to be the newest release. I say ok wait, you now won’t sell me a copy for the labeled price I walked in here and saw? He replies and says “just a second ago you acted like 69 bucks was outrageous now it doesn’t sound so bad does it?” with a smart aleck tone. So instead of tearing into him like I wanted to, I simply just walked out. I proceed to call a few other places in town and they tell me no we don’t have doom eternal. So i have my wife look on the online switch store and for some reason the first entry for doom eternal says not available for purchase/download. So with my tail in between my legs I decided to call game world and ask if they would sell me doom eternal at the price listed when I originally walked in. He acted hesitant but then said yeah come on in, I’ll sell you one copy for $69. But we are marking them up. So I walk back in and he was slapping $79 tags on them. So they sell me a copy and I eagerly get home, pull it out of the box and get to playing. When I look up doom eternal help online, I start to realize the game I’m playing is not doom eternal. I go look at the package and realize that nope, this is just doom, not doom eternal.. I couldn’t believe they were selling games from 2017 that were so high and felt like I got swindled. I called the arrogant kid back and he tells me it’s my fault for not reading the game title (even tho he pulled them out from my viewing) and tells me there’s no such thing for doom eternal on switch. Although I see it everywhere online and decided to get back on switch online marketplace and see that when you scroll down a little further, that it was available for download and purchase. I’m kicking myself for spending my money at such a non appreciative business who doesn’t value their customers. I should have been more thorough in my search but like I said I’m brand new to switch. I hadn’t even had it for a full day before going into their store. I will never ever buy anything else from them again: that smaller frames dark haired kid in there is about as disrespectful...
Read moreThis is your ultimate game store for both vintage and newer games. The store is super organized and the staff have extensive knowledge about any and every game and system. They also purchase vintage games so if you have old games just sitting around or in the attic, this is the place to take them. The caliber of the games they have on hand is impressive, especially the GameCube and original NES games. They guarantee their games for 14 days after purchase to be in good working order and their game consoles for 30 days so the people reviewing with comments that they wouldn't honor this are not correct as this is plainly printed on every receipt. I bought 17 NES games and had to clean the contacts on only one that wouldnt load, the others worked great for games more than 30 years old so they apparently clean the games as they get them in for reliability of playing. Easy to find just off of Mt. Vernon street in nixa, this should be your number one stop for video games both...
Read moreHands down the best game store I've been to. Employees are super cool and know tons about most games and consoles. Very reasonable prices and nothing too high. Cheaper than market price to where you're getting a deal most of the time.
Employees will talk with you and help you out when needed.
If a game is scratched or doesn't run, you can bring it back and get it resurfaced which fixes the issues most of the time. Refunds are given if you bring the items back within the 30 day return window.
They have many games for most consoles and a ton to choose from. I've found all the games I was looking for every time I have went in and at cheaper prices than what I could find on eBay, Mercari, or even FB Marketplace. From Pokemon on the DS to NES games. They even let you inspect the discs and cartridges before purchase to make sure everything is in order.
Definitely going...
