Thrift Store USA is a horrible place to shop; your lucky if they just ignore you. You may be treated like a criminaI by the security guard posted two feet away; who can easily see you pay for the rolling chair at the register. Get dressed down or insulted by a rude employees. Or listen to store employees gosip and complain about the clients right in front of you. All this at consignment store prices that have increasingly become a trend at major thrift store chains. I wouldn't mind the higher prices if they treated people better.
Clothing racks may look neat, but clothing is not well sorted by size. Don't bother helping them by moving the size 12 shirt from the plus rack to the standard sized rack. Unless, you want a dirty look from the size 6 employee informing you that 12 IS a plus size. Aside from lessons in maners, the store could bother teaching thier staff about women's clothing size lable catagories for better sorting.
I stopped buying clothes at this store after they closed the dressing rooms and made all sales final. While I know my size in some well known non-designer brands, all sold on a higher price tier here, I want to try them on if I can't return them. So I started to compare the prices I saw at Thrift Store USA with resale consignment stores. I now go to Platos Closet, where I get the same or better prices on recent season clothes, a fitting room, polite service and a rewards program.
As for furniture, lighting, and decor items here. That chair was my last purchase! You will get similar prices and better treatment at an estate sale/antique shop mall. For bargain home finds to fit a tight budget I sugest Thrift Store City. They are polite and prices are appropriate to the item condition. No dressing room but clothes are priced reasonable as well.
If Thrift Store USA is so concerned about the quality of thier shoppers and theft they should just sell online. Online sales will stop your theft and your staff can be rude to eachother rather than the people that come to the store. You can save on the overhead of a physical store, keep your no return policy and donate anything you can't sell at a premium to a thrift store that...
Read moreI absolutely hate going to this thrift store! As a teen who has been frequenting thrift stores with my family for the past 12 years, it is sad to see that businesses like this exist. Thrift store USA appears to be a great thrift store with organization and a nice facility. However, beneath that is where the real issues lie. Firstly, The store is EXTREMEMLY OVERPRICED. In comparison to stores like Good Mojo, Thrift Store City, and the Salvation Army, the prices are insanely high. I paid $42 for a sweater with holes in it and pants that had bleach stains hidden inside because they were "vintage." It's upsetting to see that hipsters are causing thrift stores to become places where poorer families can't shop without dropping all of their money. Also the customer service is atrocious. On that same purchasing, I found that the staff has a lazy way of doing things. The customer basically does their job for them. We must remove our own hangers, present our own tags, and make sure that our own clothing has the security tag removed. The cashier just typed in a few numbers and took my money with an attitude. Then after this annoying ordeal, I arrived at home to see that even after doing all of this, she overcharged me and left one of the security tags still on. I WILL NOT be coming back to this establishment. If you want a place with decent prices try Thrift Store City or Good Mojo. They are great alternatives with much better service even though the facility may not be your...
Read moreIf I could give this store zero stars, I would.
I spent over $60 here and left without two of the items I paid for; items I was especially excited about. When I called back multiple times to try and retrieve them, I was spoken to with complete rudeness and condescension. The manager not only interrupted me and raised his voice, but hung up on me mid-sentence after I attempted to provide the exact time I checked out; something I confirmed with receipts and photo evidence.
When I called back again, I was met with more hostility and told “that’s just policy” as if that explained or justified anything. There was no apology. No accountability. No effort made to help me recover the items I paid for, only blame and dismissal. And worst of all, despite taking down my phone number and promising to check the cameras, they never even called me back.
I used to work in thrift, I know how chaotic it can be. But this wasn’t a misunderstanding. This was indifference, negligence, and blatant disrespect. The staff here (especially management) treat customers like annoyances rather than people who support their business. I trusted this store and gave it my money; only to be treated like a problem when I asked for what was rightfully mine.
Attaching photos of the exact items they failed to give me. Don’t shop here unless you’re okay with your purchase literally disappearing. And even worse, being talked down to when you dare to ask...
