Somewhat disappointed. I don't want to be too harsh here, but when I visited the store, I had specific requests and spent a considerable amount of time communicating this to the shop employee when I dropped off 4 paintings, about how the 100+ year old paintings were to be handled---not done. Then, when I showed up to pick up them up, the 4 pieces were wrapped in lots (and lots) of plastic in a way that I could not see the finished work. This seemed very odd to me. Wouldn't everyone want to see their frame job before they left the store? As my wife and I started to unwrap them, the store employee stood there and watched-no help. After spending 10-15 minutes finally getting to see the actual work, and discovering that the backs had been papered over -which I had specifically asked that they not do because the paintings were signed and titled on the back, the employee took one of the paintings and removed the paper from the back...and then just looked at me as if he was done. I said I wanted the paper off the other ones as well, which he did. There were some other minor tweaks which he did as well. Finally, when I first went into the store, they told me they required 100% payment up front AFTER I had already spent over 30 minutes choosing frames and getting prices. There is no signage in the store to that effect displayed anywhere in the store, nor do I think that is appropriate. If I had known this, I might have gone someplace else. When I first visited the store, I heard the same employee say to another customer "we have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee". Good luck with that after you have paid them for the entire job before they have done any work. The final pieces look fine, so that is good, except for a nick on one of them which I decided not to mention because I just wanted to go home. I don't think they are all that careful with delicate items. I guess the feeling I got was that they did not appreciate my business and that my requests were not important. The owner was never present during my 2 visits. Perhaps if he/ she was, that would have made a difference.
Update: The store manager called me and addressed my concerns. I found her to be honest and trustworthy. She offered to fix any issue I had, which I appreciated. I could tell that the store will stand by their work and that they are committed to fixing any issues...
