North Attleboro Town Hall — Local services in North Attleborough

Initially we needed a sign off from the plumbing and electrical inspectors as my husband had a company put in a new hybrid hot water heater and that company pulled permits and thought the inspection by the town would be done in a week. Took the town 3 months to come out, and that was because the company that installed it was on the town to do it they said. Plumbing came- no problem. The electrical inspector for the town said he did come -which my husband knew he didn’t -because my husband was waiting for him. When I called the building inspector at the town hall they told me it was already inspected. Could NOT have been since he would have needed to be let in. So I asked for the copies of the signed off permits after weeks of going back and forth - only then did they admit they never did come by. Oh so you were lying? They made a “mistake” once I asked for the sign copies. - But yet if I didn’t ask for copies, they would have pretended all was ok. Secondly we’ve had flooding on our street. The leaves are being pulled/cleared out by my husband and another neighbor because the town doesn’t care that the flooding gets to the point you have 6 inches of water in your own driveway too. You call Dpw they have an emergency line where the answering service picks up and says someone will call you back. No one did. Not surprised with this town. No one ever does call you. Nor do they care. It’s not my husbands job to clean their streets and sewer gutter- it’s theirs. That’s why the flooding. If you know there’s a lot of rain and wind - you start looking at the streets. There are branches on the wires - no one has addressed that either. Additionally we bring our trash to my moms. She has a garage - we don’t. I’m not having it piling up in my house or basement for a week. So we drop it off daily. She puts it out front. She lives in another town. This town knows we don’t utilize their trash pickup but says my mom has to prove she has the ok to throw out our bags? She does, as her town picks it up and they do recycling. So they want 400 dollars even if you don’t utilize their waste management and then in some capacity they want my mom to prove she’s getting our trash everyday and having their town pick it up? Seriously? I’ve spoken to different people in different towns- they said this town was absurd to even ask that as you have the right not to use their trash. So I emailed the mayor of Attleboro who does not run north Attleboro (here he is on vacation) this week and he’s emailing me within minutes. He then offered to follow up if I couldn’t get anywhere with their selectmen who he said was over the town admin. Pretty sad when a mayor in another town is so on his game and this town raises taxes and yet does NOTHING to help the town -nor do they get back to you until you have to keep going higher. They play like it’s a game. In my opinion if you desire high property taxes with zero being done, move here as they won’t help you. Called the town admin, called the waste management woman - no one gets back to you. Updated: 6/29/21 Additionally had to write a letter to the town admin and yet again, nothing. He knows of issues with the police dept; that we are dealing with, and obviously thinks this is a joke. I am posting an email from the realtor that sold the house next door to the individuals across from us, because she too was being harassed. We spoke to her and we also know what her realtor wrote. The police dept. in this town does nothing, and the ones in charge here at the town hall of them -do zero. It is sad in my opinion -that no one can take accountability for...

Great employees in this town hall. I saw a video from a great Journalist. I write a lot reviews before around the country. Just a very small amount of town halls or government pass the test. Most of time you see the worst behavior from public servants. Behavior like being very aggressive behavior, intimidation people for no reason, used of violence, and more. It sad public servants can't be civilized when it is a huge part of their job. Great job and thanks for respect from your employees. I have called and while the staff is friendly and helpful they can only do so much. My problem is that we get one recycled bin. I called to purchase an additional bin and was told I can’t. I was told I could use the dump. Ok you have to pay for a sticker and then pay to dump. Since the pandemic I shop mostly online so I have lots of recycling. I’m 70 years old and also don’t think I should have to pay, pay and pay for services I already pay for. I have to take recycling to my nieces house who’s town has a free dump.
