I am writing this review after endless disappointing experiences with the Walgreens Pharmacy. The level of service provided has been horrific, and I feel compelled to share my experiences to alert others who may be considering using their services.
The most glaring issue I've encountered is the consistent delay in filling prescriptions. On multiple occasions, my prescriptions were not ready for pickup until three days after the promised date. This is not just an inconvenience, but a serious concern for those of us who rely on timely access to our medications for our health and well-being.
What's worse, there is a complete lack of communication from the pharmacy about these delays. I was not notified that my prescriptions would be late, leaving me in a lurch when I went to pick them up. This lack of transparency and disregard for customers' time is unacceptable.
Furthermore, trying to get through to the pharmacy by phone is a Herculean task. I'm consistently stuck in auto-attendant limbo on hold for an exorbitant amount of time. This makes it nearly impossible to get any information about my prescriptions or to address any concerns I might have.
After arriving at the Walgreens this morning to pick-up my prescriptions that I refilled online 3 days ago, I was told that they "might" be available for pickup tomorrow. I have over 6 prescriptions that I refill every month, and it's the same thing every time! When I got home and called the CVS Pharmacy at Willow Festival in Northbrook and spoke to the pharmacist. He said that he would have all my prescriptions transferred over to from Walgreens to CVS and fulfilled within 3 hours.
The service at Walgreens Pharmacy has been apalling. The consistent delays in filling prescriptions, lack of communication, and difficulty in reaching the pharmacy by phone are all indicative of a business that does not prioritize its customers' needs. I would strongly advise anyone considering using this pharmacy to think twice. Your health and peace of mind...
Read moreWorst service ever. Yesterday, the doctor sent them a prescription, I went to pick it up, and they said they needed and would get prior authorization from the doctor. I said that didn't make sense - the doctor sent the prescription, what more do they want from him? - but they insisted they were correct. Tired of waiting, I called the doctor's office myself, who said the prescription needed prior authorization from insurance, not the doctor. Later yesterday, Walgreens called to say the prescription was delayed. I never heard back, so called them today. The phone is pre-set to disconnect after a certain number of minutes, so they pick up just long enough to put you back on hold (since corporate tracks statistics on initial hold time). The pharmacy person said they didn't have a record of the prescription and she was busy helping other people, then hung up on me. I called again, requesting to speak to the Store Manager (apparently the only way to get their attention). I was transferred to 2 more people before being told he was unavailable. I called back an hour later, explained the issue to the Store Manager (Mark something), he transferred me to the pharmacy manager (who didn't give his name - understandable given their incompetence). He said they lost the prescription, but would call the doctor to get it again. Still waiting. Unbelievable, considering probably 70% of the store's revenue is from the pharmacy. More than 70%, when you consider the stuff people buy while waiting for their prescriptions. The store manager should be hiring more staff (yes, they are out there, if you hustle to find them and pay enough) and should get behind the counter himself when needed. Other Walgreen's locations, while not great, are certainly managed better than this one. Losing prescriptions and hanging up on customers is unacceptable. People's health is at stake. They seem to think they are just retailers and not in the health...
Read moreUnbelievably rude service! My family have been going to Walgreens store on Waukegan and Lake over 15 years but after tonight we won’t go there again. Service is usually good but tonight we went to the nice cashier with a basket of items and card for allergy pills. Cashier asked a white female staff member with blonde hair to open glass cabinet. She immediately became confrontational. I explained last time I was there I presented the allergy pills card to the pharmacist but he told me to go to front cashier and ask them to open cabinet. The white lady said that’s not store policy. My husband took the card and went back to pharmacy but this woman went on to say that there is no way pharmacist would do that and asked loudly when did it happen and who was pharmacist. I could not believe it and was very upset. She was basically calling me a liar and I had absolutely no reason to make it up. The line at pharmacy was shorter and obviously it would have been much easier than being attacked by this woman. I said again are you questioning the account of my experience and advised it was about six weeks ago and a young male pharmacist. She then went on to loudly say we don’t have young male pharmacist and again not store policy etc. I could not believe her disrespectful attitude. It was so unnecessary. She kept arguing even though my husband was waiting at pharmacy. I could not take the berating from her anymore as people were looking and just left my basket of products and walked out while she still shouted at me. I will never go back to this store again as it was a horrific experience. My husband tried to reason with the same woman but got nowhere and left too. This matter should be investigated by Human Resources and this staff member...
