While I am sure it could be said about many other businesses, Grandpa's Cheese Barn is a niche business I didn't think I had need to visit. I donât consider myself a cheese connoisseur, and I rarely go out of my way to purchase cheese- visiting a place named as a cheese barn was outside my curiosity. While driving by one day, I was a small sign outside the business which read, "deli is open." I decided I would stop in to check out the deli and see if they made sandwiches. They do. When I walked inside, I was met by happy greetings from multiple employees. One half of the store is a sweet shop with a large selection of candies, chocolates, fudges, etc. The other half of the store is a heaping mound of cheese, jerkey, wine, and other assorted goods a foodie might enjoy. The employees answered my questions, recommended a combination of meats and cheeses, made me a sandwich (handed me a bag of chips to go with it) and made my experience so positive, I have gone back multiple times since. If youâre driving by this place and paying it no attention, pay attention! If youâve been inside, you know...
Read moreWhat a place! You get to sample a ton of cheeses and deliscious sauces and jams along with beef jerky. There's a full service deli inside and a chocolate shop too. The people were very friendly and helpful. Spend a little time reading the description of each cheese you sample. I learned a lot. Kicking myself now for not getting a small hunk of the Amazing Merlot cheese and the Espresso cheese. Both equally good but left a memory on my taste buds that is making me want them now!!! Guess I will have to go back soon đ Also they sell Limburger cheese! My Dad's favorite! They sell Sweeties candy, oh my gosh.... My Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Turtle candy was to die for! Homemade fudge and a variety of sugar free candies too. If you are looking for Pop Rocks they have them in cotton candy flavor too. Grandpa's Cheesebarn, way better than the CheeseHaven in Port Clinton, see my review on Google to see why. *If this review was helpful and you liked it please hit the...
Read moreMy husband and I go just about every Sunday after church to get our weekly lunch meat and cheese. This past week was not good. When I took my lunch meat out to rebag it was intertwined was a long black hair. I threw it all out. Then when I unwrapped my American white cheese it was chipped! I canât even get it apart!! I went back Thursday night to talk to a manager and buy the lunch meat again. He was told I wanted to talk to him but he never approached me. I approached him. Told him the situation and he was more concerned on whether or not he did it. Told me he would let whoever know what happened and that was the end of the conversation. I left feeling that he didnât believe me. Not sure Iâll return. Never asked for my name or number no information and I paid for everything again! Monday Apr 17 UPDATE appreciated a reply and understand the supervisor situation now and appreciate the offer of the new package of lunch...
