ALKA Appliances — Attraction in Norwalk

This by far is the worst used appliance store that I know of. I bought a fridge for 300.00. I had it for about 3 months, then the heating coil went out on it. All my food in the fridge went bad, and they never replaced my food that I had to throw away. I called the company to have someone come out look at it. The guy they sent out finally showed up two hours later. then four months after that, the same thing happened. I called the store and spoke to the owner Pelaar, and she had no record of them coming out to fix it. So therefore she told me that if it’s not the same problem I would be responsible for the bill. She is a bad business owner, she does not know how to run a business let alone keep paperwork together. All she worries about is when it’s time for them to close, and when it’s time to go home. You cannot run a business that way. And you have to stand by your warranty. I bought a brand new fridge from Sears Kenmore brand for $100 more. I would never ever buy used appliances from them again. Lesson learned. I would never refer anyone to that business. And Pelaar Just remember word of mouth!! That is going to make your business grow and customer...

I bought a reconditioned refrigerator here about 18 months ago and it just stopped working. Would not cool at all. So I had a repairman come take a look. What he found was corrosion in the tubing and therefore multiple freon leaks. In order to fix the fridge he would have to replace the tubing and add freon to the tune of about $400. Ouch. He said the corrosion/leaks were caused by dirty coils which then led to overheating and thus leaks/corrosion. AND that it happened long before I got the refrigerator. I saw the problem and I can absolutely guarantee that it did not happen while I had it. It was his opinion that ALKA Applicances knew it was going to be a problem but figured it would last the length of the warranty. So the moral to this story it "just because it looks clean on the inside doesn't mean the rest of it...

I bought a fridge from this place. I clicked online and looked at a few pictures and gave them a call. The person on the phone was really nice, she went over the dimensions of what I needed and found one, she also emailed me pictures of the fridge. I called her back and bought it! The fridge will be delivered in a couple of days and they will take my old one all for the quoted price, tax included! No muss no fuss!
