El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Norwalk

I just spent 40 bucks on dinner here but I might end up just throwing it away. I walked in to place an order and immediately noticed an employee who appeared to be on her break with a personal drink item in hand - WITH HER FOOD SERVICE GLOVES ON. I observed the same employee place her drink underneath the food service counter, move her hair from her face, and touch her face - all while wearing her gloves. She then proceeded to touch and prepare food (specifically side salads) for other people.

I addressed the issue to the staff working behind the counter and they all looked at me like I was making an issue out of a non issue. If the rest of that team doesn’t understand that that is a problem, I have zero confidence that food safety standards are being followed overall.

This isn’t a hole in the wall / food truck .

This location is considered busy location although they had a dirty sanitation bucket unchanged cleaning, countertops, tables, I also two ladies one wipping her nose with her bare hands before handling food in prep area in back of the cashier area and didn't wash her hands at all went back preping food without washing her dirty hands and I was grossed out before I got my food order. The second lady was wipping down tables countertops, kitchen countertops, (in the kitchen area) trash can area, near prep area an place was packed with people. That leaves me to question how often is sanitation buck been sitting there with that dirty water and dirty towel.. Or if it's ever changed and that's not first time or second time it's repeating offender of multiple times I've seen that way. With being that busy during lunch&dinner rushes. And the trash cans were full along with a dirty bathroom that smelled...

Usually a Great experience, However today an employee assumed I wasn't bilingual, and I am, i asked for extra sauce and I guess he didn't hear me so he didn't charge or give me an extra sauce. When I asked for another cilantro sauce, the manager asked me if I asked him and if he charged. He Did NOT! He then proceeds to side eye me and comment in spanish, "No I asked and she didn't say anything" which is funny considering he repeated the order to me correctly. So I said in spanish, "No I did ask and you repeated it." He said "oh ya, sorry" and looked surprised when he noticed I spoke Spanish, then when i walk away i hear him complaining about the situation and trying to say i didnt ask. Its not a big deal, but what bothered me is how he made the situation look childish making more out of it than it should of been. Charge for the sauce ans move on, dont dwell and make you look...
