I encountered the $72 parking fee on my way to visit the park. I pulled into the gate house and told them I was out of town. “It’s $72” I was told. I said “Even for the park? What if I don’t want to do that, how do I get out of here?” They told me to come into the lot, turn here, turn there, look for a sign, etc. I guess it was complicated. They had me enter through the gate and on my way to the exit I ended up a little lost. I had to take a break and get my bearings so I pulled into a spot. I couldn’t see so well so I figured I should get to a high spot and look for the exit. I grabbed my board so I could go quickly. Turned out the high spot was the skate park. I found my way to the highest ramp and although I could see better I took myself around the skate park to check if the view was better. Now I don’t know whether it was intentional but I couldn’t stop riding once I got moving. It was as if the bowls and banks kept drawing me deeper in, pulling me back and forth across the park. Update Not only do they charge asinine fees for parking but the park is closed during the afternoon to allow only beginners to skate. Truly a great skatepark ruined...
