I was at the Shady Beach in Norwalk today after being at the Maritime Aquarium with my family. Since the weather was quite nice and still early, we decided to check out the beach which was about 8 mins away. We arrived at the beach at around 3, and the sand wasn’t the best since it had pebbles. The water also had rocks and seaweed in the water. In the entrance when you arrive, there is no authorities there to explain whether or not you need to pay for the day or if it was free. At Walnut beach in Milford CT, there are authorities that stand there and make sure if you have a season pass, if not you pay for the day. Here at this beach we didn’t know if there was a pass you needed to have or anything since there was no one there. When we arrived to our car, there was a ticket of $150 given by the guard that patrols the cars in the parking lot. There was no explanation when you enter the beach that it’s divided with residents on one side and the other non-resident parking places. The guard patrolling was also very ignorant, and barely gave any explanation as to why we received it and was disrespectful and started laughing when we explained the situation to him. It’s not worth coming to this beach when you can risk the chance of possibly getting a fine just for not paying as a resident when you live in the same state of...
Read moreDon't go to this beach unless you are ready to spend more money here than for your hotel room for the night!! Be aware, there are separate parking lots. Which, anyone that can read, would be able to notice. However, when you have a giant van blocking the one sign that says residents only, and and outsider comes in, and the parking police are circling around us as we gather our to things, but instead of letting us know we couldn't park there, they waited until we got into the bathroom to ticket us $150. Went to pay the ticket, came back to meet my sisters and nieces on the beach, just to find out parking is $72!!! Are you kidding me?! That is highway robbery!!our hotel for the night was $200 🤣 and at least more comfortable!! This beach is so rocky, it's like walking on Legos!! Bring your water shoes!! In my opinion, find another beach that won't scam money...
