Truly one of the nicest places to go in Norwalk to walk your dog also one of the worst places to go.People do not pickup after their dogs and whats even more alarming is the aloof idiot dog owners that allow their dogs to just run to any ones dog without asking if its ok . I have been many times and have had tell owners to call their dog (s) back on too many occasions .People that go there on a regular basis with other owners as a group most are ok.But then you have the truly aloof owners that think their dog is fine running over to the other side of the park out of sight with no clue what their dog is doing.I have on many occasions almost had my dog get into fights with dogs that are offleash running where ever they want.I have been more than cordial to these inept owners in preventing their dog from getting bitten or worse. I have been told 'well its a dog park if you dont want you dog running around off leash why are you here'? Well heres my response to that:I am a responsible dog owner and I walk my dog on a leash until we reach an area where he can go of leash within my view and within distance for him to hear my commands.Per the Animal control your dog must be within 50 feet of you when off leash. You also must leash your dog entering and exiting the park not just pull up open the door and let your dog go.Almost ran over a dog 2 weeks ago because a guy pulled up opened his door let his dog out then sat in his car with his friend and smoked while the dog wandered the parking lot behind cars and then went into the park without its owners .Until something is done to correct this and other issues there I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR DO TO...
Read moreMy two doberman LOVE this dog park! The field is open, fresh and it's very easy to keep your eyes on your companion. It's a great field to play fetch in and a lot of the dog owners we have met are friendly. Only issue is that a lot of people do not pick up after their dogs but for the most part, it's clean. The busiest times I've seen are over the weekends. There's also limited parking but people make it work. Fun park for the doggies!!! PS - There's no drinking water available. For these hot days bring a pop up bowl and water for...
Read moreIt’s a beautiful park but there are a lot of owners who let their aggressive dogs off leash. My dog (8 months old) has been severely attacked TWICE in this park. Their excuse will always be “he doesn’t like puppies.” That’s not a good reason and your dog shouldn’t be off leash if you know he/she is aggressive. Like I said, a very beautiful park for dogs, but I will not be coming back because of the aggressive dogs that roam around with their owners not...
