Holifield Park — Attraction in Norwalk

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the +$300k grant upgrade presented a state-of-the-art playground featuring very well designed 2-5yo and 5-12yo playsets, and a Zipline! Each playset has such cool interactive features that encourages fluid creativity built in throughout every nook and cranny of the structures. Some obvious goodie but oldie features like slides and climbing features were made with more child friendly materials, with learning aspects and puzzles in every space available (like the handles, under slides, even a hot wheel rail along the entire tower parameter, I've never seen that before!). Separating the bucket swings for the tots into the NW corner from the older kid swings on the SW corner of the playground is a wise detail in distinguishing spaces. My child is 2yo so I appreciate the thought behind this detail (the NW corner is closer to the recreation center/restrooms). I've heard other parents praise how the 5-12yo playset is enclosed. Este parque podría parecer bonito, y bien iluminado por la noche para los juegos, y todo eso, pero es un lugar de reunión para uso de drogas y alcohol! La luz del día y la noche! Tengo también en varias ocasiones que se encuentran los condones usados en el estacionamiento como salí de mi coche! Este parque se encuentra junto a la Escuela Primaria Dolland y muchos niños pasan por este parque e incluso quedarse a jugar en los programas después de la escuela proporcionados por el parque. El personal de la escuela después es amable, pero no pueden detener a los fumadores de marihuana! LO HAGO! Llamo y reportar cualquier comportamiento extraño! He reportado tiempo después de la utilización del tiempo de las drogas y el alcohol y toda la basura me parece que me dice que estas actividades son frecuentes y sin ser visto por cualquier persona usando el parque! IN DAYLIGHT and evening! I have also on several occasions found used condoms in the parking lot as I got out of my car ! This park is NEXT to Dolland Elementary School and many Children pass through this park and even stay to play in the after school programs provided by the park. The after school staff is friendly but they cannot stop the pot smokers! I DO! I call and report any strange behavior! I have reported time after time use of drugs and alcohol and all the trash I find that tells me that these activities are frequent and unseen by anyone else using the park! What is wrong with people? A really scary part from a human aspect. The reality is, this part sit in between the Norwalk city service yard ,and a grade school . Surrounded by factories. The best part, most days you'll find an amazing assortment people , ranging in the unlawful septum of human exsistence. They have a children's activity center here for summer events. Two basketball courts. The restrooms are swell to say the least. Baseball is the biggest field here.
