While I am a Los Angeles native, I currently live 2 hours away from the nearest Yoshinoya (Bakersfield, CA location). We usually will eat at the Bakersfield location when going to or coming back from LA, however I realized that I wasn't going to make it on time to place an order so I decided to visit this Norwalk establishment. Now, I haven't been to LA in about 2 years so when I ordered 6 meals to bring back to my husband and brother-in-law back home, I completely botched it. Instead of getting big plates of the chicken, I ordered bowls. When I realized the order was wrong, I advised the staff and they sent Iris, the store manager, to help me.

Iris went above and beyond. I explained my situation to her and she was beyond understanding to my situation. She provided me with the correct order and made me feel like I was a valued customer. I literally cried (It was a long weekend with 2 under 3; I was exhausted, hormonal and ready to go home and sleep in my own bed lol). She even offered me ice cold water to help calm my nerves and get me home (5 hours away) safely.

I would love to thank Iris and her amazing team at the Norwalk, CA Yoshinoya for being so patient and understanding with me. I would 100% recommend this location to family and friends in the area, and will definitely be visiting the next time I'm in town. Oh, and the food was...

I've been coming to this location ever since I could start remembering anything and I must say, I am very disappointed in how it has become. Before the portions were so big that the price was well worth it, but now very often I am forced to order my beef bowl without vegetables in order to get a decent amount of beef otherwise it will mostly be a bowl of rice. The service here has also seen its decline as I've seen many long lines at the drive through and had to sit through some of them for over 20 minutes. Today was busy and very noisy inside and the cashier got my order wrong. I ended up getting a bowl with vegetables and just as I predicted there was very little meat. Normally, you do have to wait a long time inside as well as there are usually new cashiers who have poor customer service skills.

Update: A year later, they ran out of large bowls and tried to match proportions using multiple smaller bowls... they missed a few items and were completely out of others. I've had simalar experiences of wrong orders so many times but this a first. I don't think I'll be coming back to here. Shame as I remember coming here with my family and being so happy when my dad said we were having it for dinner. 20+ years later...

Visited the drive-thru Tuesday May May 22nd, around 10:30 PM. Placed my order and asked for extra habanero sauce & siracha sauce. Waited about 15 minutes to get my order. Got home & Opened my food tray to eat and the steak looked pink, under cooked & most of it was nerve! Only a couple of veggies! The Habanero Chicken looked dry and had very little sauce over it! I did not get my extra sauces! 😐 the other bowls in my order were almost empty and not even filled to the line? I was very upset. I called them up, spoke to the Mgr. Kyle who was very nice and professional. Told me to go back w/ receipt and they would replace my food. Two days later I went back with my receipt and pictures of the food. Donovan at the register was super nice. He called over Mgr. CRYSTAL? She was also very nice, understanding & efficient! Got a replacement of my order. ☺ Thank you again!

Reason why I rated them 4 stars is only because of the Management team & Donovan for knowing how to handle my situation and because My order the second time around...

I went to Yoshinoya located at 12555 Alondra Blv in Norwalk CA 90650 and Ordered a Combo Beef Teriyaky Chicken, Steam Rice, and Vegetales, to go and when I got home I found out that my Order has more Rice than Beef, Chicken, and Vegetables, even on the other other of Beef, Vegetables and Rice also they put very little Beef on it, I have attached pictures of my large Combo so you can see how they serving the orders, I will never visit this Yoshinoya at this location and going make sure that the community knows what kind of service they provide there, and also will send a repor to the consumers affairs to let them know about this poor food services. I'm very upset for this.

This was my first time eating at Yoshinoya and I thought it was good. I ordered the small Tokyo fried chicken bowl and a small Gyudon beef bowl with some sweet & spicy sauce on the side. The fried chicken was great, but I wasn't too big on the Gyudon beef. Maybe next time I'll try the teriyaki instead. I just wish I would have ordered more sweet & spicy sauce. If you go to Yoshinoya be sure to double up on that sauce. It's really good. They have a good crew working at Yoshinoya. I didn't wait long for my food at all. And the cashier Samantha has a lot of patience. There was a difficult customer in front of me and she never once lost her cool.

I've loved Yoshinoya for many years. I only get back to California about once a year if I'm lucky and usually have time for a Nostalgia food tour with getting a Beef bowl at Yoshinoya one of the highlights. Don't remember brown rice being an option last year but it is a good add to ok be of my all time favorite dishes.
