Edit 6/28/2024: I bought an NES with a defective A/V port. Per their return policy (because it's working with the RF adapter) I couldn't get a refund, only a replacement or store credit. I ended up getting a sealed PS2 game of equal value since I couldn't get a refund. I do not like the fact that they can sell you a defective item and not give you your hard earned money back. Buyer beware.
Great selection with some very rare gems. Prices are about what you'd expect for retro game collecting, but they are willing to work with you depending on the condition of an item (missing manual or disc, for instance). Whatever system you're looking for they most likely have it. There's also a large selection of movies if that interests you.
Had I came with a larger budget I would've walked out with several games, but alas. I did manage to score an N64, controller and power adapter + A/V cables for a reasonable price though! While possible to get it a bit cheaper elsewhere it's not easy, plus there's no telling the condition of what you buy from an online seller in some cases. If something happens within 30 days I can drive back there and exchange it for another system, so there's no need to deal with shipping hassles or wait time.
The gentleman working there was attentive and friendly and I had no issues speaking with him. I spoke with him about some of my thoughts on the retro game market and it was nice to vent and air out complaints face-to-face with someone who understands, as opposed to behind a monitor.
I will definitely be coming back here in the future. If you're nearby or want to visit a new store...
Read moreThe staff is very friendly and helpful but the store policies are horrible. I bought a game that I was concerned may have problems. They assured me it looked pretty good and ran it through their cleaning system several times. 2 days later I had to bring it back. It was freezing up and was unreadable. I asked if they had another copy in store, they didn't. Their store across town had one but I couldn't drive over there to get it I disn't havery time. They would transfer it for me but I would have to wait at least a day to transfer it and on top of that it cost more at the other store and I would have to pay the difference. Really?! What kind of exchange policy is that! So I told them never mind just refund it, I was sure I could find it somewhere else nearby. They wouldn't refund it, they could only give me store credit. So they sell me a defective product, aren't able to replace it in store, require me to pay more money while I wait to get one transferred to their store and then won't refund me my money to go elsewhere. I won't be back and I'll make sure all my gamer friends know to stay away. First time and last...
Read moreI sold them a 500GB PS4 slim, an unused PS4 racing wheel, a 4TB external hard drive, and 40 PS4 games, and the amount they offered me was less than $300. That is a JOKE!! I know they are going to turn right back around and sell the PS4 for at least $250. I don’t like leaving bad reviews especially for a store I have been shopping at for so many years and spent so much money at, but I have no respect for their business practices. They lowball customers who sell to them to the extreme, and prices on some games are higher than anyone should be asked to pay. I will now be looking for a different video game store to visit and spend my money at. The only plus is that they have a good variety of games. Also, the fact that the owner only responds to positive reviews should speak volumes about the character of the company.
Do yourself a favor and do not buy the Old Skool brand products. The Old Skool brand products in general are junk quality and not...
