Its a shame I need to even write this as I actually love Habaneros and especially the pastor which I get in a bowl. I was regularly ordering pick up since covid started and was willing to overlook minor issues like missing queso. Stuff happens and its difficult times etc etc.
Today I went to pick up my order and realized quickly that the restaurant had multiple tables of customers dining inside without masks. Not against the mask mandate for Hilliard and Franklin County but not exactly smart public health safety.
What was disappointing were the customers seated directly next to the online/app order pickup area eating their meal. My order happened to not be at the table so I thought maybe I could walk up and grab my order before being set next to maskless strangers. When I walked to the front counter I quickly realized that there was a large family of perhaps 10 all placing orders not wearing masks, one of which was doing the inexplicable "peer over the glass" routine that you see at fast casual type places.
I quickly walked out after seeing my order at a station and realizing I would not be able to get my order without coming into contact with this large family. I called Habaneros and explained that I did not feel safe picking up my order. They responded that there was nothing that could be done, the order could not be canceled and I would need to take up the issue with Uber Eats.
I realize this is a rather long review but it's very disheartening to know that I was potentially exposed to covid and I can no longer frequent a restaurant I considered one of the best in Columbus and Hilliard. I also hope that the front of house employees are able to stay safe while there are little to no precautions being taken to protect them. Hopefully ownership can get their act together in the...
Read moreThis was the worst service I've had in a decade. My party of four arrived at 6:00 on Sunday night. We placed our order, paid, and sat down. They gave me the queso instead of bean dip, but whatever, mistakes happen.
Ten minutes in, they brought over one of our three entrees.
Twenty-five minutes in, I walked over to the register to ask if there's a problem with the order; six other people were standing around with their order numbers in hand asking the same thing. The person at the counter ignored most of us and mumbled to one person that they had a lot of orders and were working on it. Even if true, there were at least five people visible in the kitchen, not all of whom were working, and they were ignoring in-store orders to complete online delivery orders they received later.
Thirty minutes in, they brought the second entree to our table. Forty-five minutes in, I walked back up to the counter to ask where my entree was; they never made it. Fifty-five minutes in, they delivered the barbacoa torta (pictured below). It was all right, 6.5/10.
I have never had worse service at a sit down restaurant, ever. Everyone who worked at Habaneros on August 21st, 2022 should be embarrassed. It blows my mind that they have such...
Read moreworst. experience. ever. i have been coming here since it opened, at the beginning it was a fun atmosphere & very exciting with great employees and great service. however, the last 3 times i have come here it has been well below acceptable. rudest employees with attitudes, rolling eyes & talking badly about customers right in front of their face. these teenagers might be the rudest most entitled people in the food service i’ve ever been around. due to miscommunication while placing separate orders they combined the two orders and overcharged. they did not help problem solve, and multiple girls working copped the biggest attitude claiming we were in the wrong. they attempted to overcharge for salsa, queso, drinks and candy, making it all more expensive until we called them out. these girls need to know that 1) name calling while speaking in spanish does not mean i cannot understand you. 2) overcharging is not acceptable & 3) do not assume we do not know the owners aka YOUR BOSS. i would STRONGLY suggest you to go to the new location on mill run where you are treated with respect & given...
