Aloha Salads — Attraction in Oʻahu

This was my first time going and I'm disappointed because of the reviews. I guess I was expecting something great for the price. I asked if the subs were toasted, they said yes. I ended up ordering the Italian sub on pita. First off the pita was a small six inch flatbread that had wilted lettuce, tomatoes about 1/2" thick, and waaaaay too much mayo. Nothing about it was toasted...meat cold and cheese still hard. I can deal with an overpriced messy flatbread but what made me decide I'm never going back was the disgusting rag that was on the cutting board, used to wipe the knife off to cut the bread! It was obviously sitting there for a long time, never cleaned before using on other subs. It looked crusty from obvious use and the girl was trying to find a clean part to wipe the knife on. This is my absolute favorite place. it's local and healthy, and i've been going here years. the reason i'm giving it 3 stars is because i only mean the mililani location specifically, the new management/employees that they hired are absolutely horrible. I called 6 times to place an order to pick up the other day, and not a single answer, and it's been like that ONLY since they hired these new girls (it was very efficient before). they are also very rude all the time when i always treat them nicely anyway, so i don't know if they're prejudice, or what their issue is, but i've been going here for years, and if i'm spending lots of money at this place and being very polite, i feel like this isn't deserved, and it's disappointing because this is my favorite...

We do like to order from this restaurant. Staff is service oriented and very nice. It is a good alternative to other take out options. We love the online order option, however we do recommend calling in your order if close to closing because they do run out of ingredients. The only reason they received 4 stars is that we have ordered online within an hour of closing, paid for extra toppings online, only to get the order home and those items not being there. Upon investigating, they ran out but didn't call, replace or refund the item. Does not happen often, but had happened in 3 out of 6 orders before we started calling it in if close to closing.
