Emily Sherych is the best funeral arranger our family could ever have during this very difficult time. Our dad unexpectedly passed away ending of February, 2 days after his 60th birthday. My siblings and I are young and did not have any single clue on what happens from when a loved one dies, how to have their celebration of life, etc to burial or cremation. We wanted to have his service within a month of his passing. Already in distraught, we have called and browsed multiple funeral homes/mortuary on island, no one could really tells us straight the process nor the prices but asked us to jump through more hoops to get the information we need. All our request is that, we want dad's body viewed at the chapel and cremated the following day and that he will be taken from the hospital as soon as we sign the release form and also that they have their own crematorium so we know that our dad's body will only be under one provider.
Valley of the Temples and Emily from the beginning responded right away through email and phone calls with the information we need. Emily was extremely patient with us with all our questions knowing we had ZERO idea on how this process works. She gave us dates and timelines that worked for our family. She provided options that made sense. She did not haggle or were ever rude. Emily was kind and caring and made sure every detail that involved the care of our dad to the beautiful celebration of life were handled professionally and promptly. Emily was always in touch and did not disappear after we committed to their care and after we paid. Valley of the temples have exceeded our expectations. They cared for our dad as if they knew him and gave us and him the utmost respect.
Their main chapel/facility is CLEAN and cool. The beautiful view of windward side is just a plus. There is always there to greet and assist you.
Valley of the Temples (VOT) staff have sincere compassion. Also, I was made aware that they need more staff, there were only Erin and Axel, 2 of them the night of dad's service but they still did a wonderful job. We weren't rushed and you can tell that they love what they do. If you have any interest in this field, and have the heart of Emily, consider applying for VOT.
The day we picked up dad's urn, we did wait a little but their Manager Shannon made sure that we got dad as promised.
We highly recommend going to Valley of the Temples.

My experience was extremely sales-driven and unprofessional. I asked during the initial call for a complete pricing list of all available options. I never received it. Although I was open to taking advantage of a promotion they were offering, the entire interaction felt pushy and disingenuous.
When I was finally ready to pay and move forward with the agreed-upon arrangements, I called the salesperson. She was unprepared, uninformed, and clearly didn’t know how to use the system. While on the call, I could hear others in the background giving her instructions, and she was having multiple side conversations trying to figure out how to process my agreement and payment. It was chaotic and uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, I could actually hear other sales calls happening in the background from what was clearly a call center environment. As the transaction dragged on—and it took far too long—I finally couldn’t stay silent. I told the salesperson directly how unprofessional the call was and that it sounded like it was her first time ever interacting with a potential client. Someone in the background jumped in and said, “I was just trying to help her.” Again—what is going on?
This wasn’t just a bad call—it’s a clear reflection of poor leadership, poor training, and a broken system. If this is the level of service offered when things are routine, I can’t imagine what it would be like dealing with them during an actual time of loss. Absolutely...
Read moreNot so long ago, my ‘Ohana experience the most devastating loss of my 4 year old niece Kelci Marie. We had planned a lifetime of experiences and joyful moments with her, and now they were gone. After her passing, we were faced with putting together our final event with her. Her funeral. The unbelievable stress and trauma of putting her funeral together was starting to tear our family apart. It wasn’t until the very moment that our family first met with Mrs. Jessica Morgan Garcia that we began to heal. Jessica set us at ease from the moment that we all sat down to look over plans. It was her voice, her nurturing words, and her understanding that helped us through this time. Jessica literally held our hands through each step of Kelci’s service. She was a guiding light for my family, and we will always remember and love her for giving us the chance to create the perfect send off for our little one. I can honestly say that we were able to accomplish an extraordinary celebration of life for my niece because of Mrs. Jessica Morgan Garcia. The service was well planned out with floral arrangements, releasing 1000 balloons, setting doves free, and even a helicopter that dropped flowers over Kelci’s gravesite. Jessica gave my family peace. She helped us heal and we will never forget her kindness, her generosity, and her aloha. Mahalo Jessica and your...
