Was a decent yoga studio at first, but then their rules changed, and it stopped being welcoming.
"Clear business practices" is more like hypocritical business practices. They offer showers but you can't actually clean yourself afterwards or you're told you are taking too long because you're the last one out, at your first class at that new time during the week, by the way. Didn't even get a chance to get your routine set before they said you have to hurry up.
Was told I couldn't wear my normal shower shoes (because hygiene duh) because they had been used "outside." So I bought BRAND NEW NEVER BEEN WORN except inside that property (as an added expense for that studio) only to be told I couldn't wear them inside the studio, which also has hardwood floors. This is after nearly 4 months of wearing them exclusively inside that property.
Nowhere on the premises says you can't wear slippers inside, especially since I had a verbal agreement (or so I thought) with the owner. The signs mentioned no cell phones, and yet I saw more than one person have their cell phone inside the studio with them, and they didn't get called out to put them away.
Their website looks like it hasn't been updated since 2005 and doesn't mention anything about the slippers concept, both the outside slippers and inside slippers ordeal. I had to find out about that verbally.
It took me saying something to the property manager of that place before they fixed a massive slippery spot that persisted right outside their entrance.
It took me saying something before they fixed an automatic email that originated due to COVID measures when you canceled less than four hours prior to class.
It's just laziness and double standards at this place, and if it wasn't for the discount I got through insurance, it's definitely not worth the price....
Read moreMatthias & Patricia are awesome. They do everything they do for the right reasons and they are amazing at it! I joined Bikram Yoga Kapolei about a month ago and ever since the beginning love with how much appreciation and understanding they greet you every time you come in. They will help you get back to your best self if that is your goal. If that is not your goal, that's okay too, you can just feel out where your personal journey will take you. They offer a variety of classes at very different times throughout the day and I feel like they put a great effort into offering their classes at the most convenient times for their long-time yogis (it seems like there might be some changes to the current schedule but as of now the studio will close midday to allow for earlier and later hours!) They offer a great package deal. You can ask questions about how far an old injury will allow you to take part, they offer alternatives in poses and exercises and if you want, even nutritional advice. But they are never pushy in any of it. I feel at home and at peace as soon as I step into their studio and appreciate the truly respectful atmosphere. Mahalo for all that you do for us...
Read moreI moved to Hawaii recently and had been looking for a hot yoga place. I’ve done yoga for a long time and leaving a studio you love and adjusting to a new one is not easy. From day one I stepped into this studio, I received an impressive welcome, with ongoing information, instructions and directions in every aspect of the experience. A month later, not a single moment of uneasiness or a sense of embarrassment because, as a new person, you are fumbling through learning all the nuances of a new place. During practice, you hear reassurance and gentle feedback and corrections of your postures. Before you leave, a word of suggestion or curiosity about how you are doing... As new people come, I see the same thing and I say to my myself, “This is for real.” I am glad to be part of this small community; they are professional in their art and they know how to do customer service. Thank you Patricia and team, I really appreciate all...
