Just went on this tour while staying at Turtle Bay. What an awesome way to start the day! Door-to-door service from the front desk, and they really thought of everything (there’s even a hose-down stop on the way back). The emphasis of this tour is definitely on turtle-spotting (we saw many!) and not on kayaking, but I found there was just enough paddling involved to feel like I earned my breakfast ;) The guides were super patient, knowledgeable, engaged and informative. The bay is just stunning and very secluded. I would definitely do this tour again! P.S. they’re very good with minding the time - I managed to squeeze this in on my last day and I was back at the resort in time to check out and catch my next flight!

This morning I had a wonderful experience kayaking with Scott and Sabrina. We were on an eco-kayaking tour on the North Shore of Oahu. We saw huge turtles as we maneuvered around the waves with Scott and Sabrina guiding us to where the turtles seemed to be likely to swim. Scott had wonderful information about the turtles as well as interesting stories about the North Shore. We booked our tour at the Turtle Bay Resort and it was the highlight of our vacation. While I had been tempted to bring my camera, on the advice of the your guides,i left it on the shore. Scott took lots of great photos so we have lasting memories pf our kayaking adventure!

Absolutely amazing experience to see the turtles without all the hassle down near Honolulu. The turtles here are not scared of the kayaks (which cannot be said for all the snorkelers). The guide counted 22 turtles on our adventure, but I am pretty sure I saw a handful more that she did t even count. I expected to see one or two turtles but we saw soooooo many. One even came up for air right in front of our kayak (inches from my face). Mahalo to Scott and his amazing team. Definitely something we will do again when we come back!

My wife and I took a two hour bird tour offered by Shaka Kayaks at the Turtle Bay Resort. Pearse was our guide. The tour was an incredible experience, and my wife and I highly recommend it. For two hours we traveled by golf cart with Pearse across the resort property, seeing 27 different species of birds and catching sight of Humpback whale activity while watching the ocean scape for different breeds of Booby. If forced to pick just one highlight, I'd go with seeing two Albatross chicks - an amazing sight and an incredible success story for habitat reconstruction. And therein lies what made this tour the exceptional event it was: Pearse's ability to weave bird viewing with local culture and history into a seamless experience. If you have any interest in natural history, make this tour a priority - it may just be the highlight of your Hawaiian adventure. And one last comment: after the tour you'll get a list of birds seen, bird photos, and a map of your tour course emailed to you - a great way to capture memories to...

I can’t say enough good things about our experience! We booked online (weren’t guests of the resort) and the process was a breeze. Mike, our guide, was awesome and very knowledgeable, and fun! He made sure that everyone in the group was able to get good views of the turtles. We saw MANY turtles as well, too many to count. The water in Turtle Bay is much calmer than I expected. Being a novice kayaker I had no issues at all. My 7 year old sat in the front of a double kayak and had a blast observing all the turtles and just riding along. I never had any safety concerns whatsoever. I also appreciate that the lifejackets they have for everyone are higher quality, low profile, and very comfortable! That’s important to be able to move your arms while paddling. Overall this is one of the best organized tourist activities that we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing on the island! Worth every penny...

Wow!! Incredible experience had thanks to Tommy and the team at Shaka Kayaks! If you are looking for an authentic eco minded water experience lead by passionate eco warriors then I highly recommend Shaka kayaks and their Honu Hawaiian sea turtle experience. My seven year old daughter and I had super family fun and really enjoyed how professional and authentic Tommy our guides storytelling was. He was really passionate about the history of the area and shared stories about culture along with learning fun turtle facts whilst kayaking Kawela Bay. We saw lots of turtles and our experience was topped off with a treasure hunt. Fun activity perfect for all ages and I loved the level of care and aloha that was shown to the place, the Ocean, and all the guests on our tour. Well done!!! We will be back to check out the...
