Oak Brook Park District Recreation Center — Attraction in Oak Brook

Check-in is easy and the front desk staff is always welcoming and professional. We come here for the open swim hours. The locker rooms are clean and they offer family dressing rooms, which is nice. The family changing rooms offer individual family bathrooms with showers (I believe there's about 6). There is an indoor splash pad for toddlers, young children, a water slide that empties into a 3'6" pool, a whirlpool and a pretty wide lane that goes from about 3" to 4". There is a whirlpool for adults and a few swimming lanes for adults. There is plenty of chairs around the pool and they offer life jackets for children, pool noodles, beach balls, basketballs for the basketball hoop. Took my two girls here as we were looking for a park and are from out of town. This is a big sports complex with soccer and baseball fields as well as a long running/biking path. We came looking for some swings and found a massive play yard/equipment setup next to the main building. We went during the week and there was no one there but us. I actually asked someone to confirm it was a public place, as there was so much play equipment with no one around. Needless to say, my kids loved it. Our family has been going to the obpd for 15+ years now. I’ve been to other higher end gyms that offer more things but we like this location Bc of convenience of location and they offer everything basic you would need in a gym. They have definitely improved overall in the past few years. However sometimes I’m disappointed in customer service and talking to customers, they can definitely be trained more on that. Also wish they have more flexibility on bringing in guests that don’t live in oakbrook or that don’t have memberships in general.
