The Sandlot - A Universal Playground - Oak Brook Park District — Attraction in Oak Brook

My son is disabled and it is difficult to find inclusive playgrounds with adaptive equipment. This is a pretty cool playground with a rubber ground instead of woodchips and wide ramps with rails on both sides. It has an adaptive zip line thing my son enjoyed but it is disappointing that this park doesn't have any swings at all. It is mostly fenced in but the entrance isn't and doesn't have a gate so that's wide open for kids to run out of so that's another downside to this park. It's a cute little playground but there's definitely better inclusive parks with swings that are fully fenced in for those whose kids...

Great addition to a large park complex. This is a fully fenced park area for younger kids to play and run. The play structure is multi-leveled for kids of multiple ages and it is connected by ramps to aid people of all abilities. The baseball theme is carried throughout with cute touches such as a ticket stand and baseball diamond on the ground. Park is a mix of grass and soft ground covering with only minimal cement. A very nice and creative playground for kids of all ages. It has very unique equipment that I've not come across other parks. Eg. the zipline, ramps and bridges, musical instruments like xylophone and drums etc.
