I have just started as a new student, so I know that I have a lot ahead of me still that could effect my opinion. That said, I just wanted to leave a review about my experience in starting with Rasmussen thus far. It has already greatly impacted my decision to further my education.
I am a single mother with a full time career, that is not in the medical industry. Deciding to go back to school really seemed overwhelming to me at first. Daunting, even. I am definitely a person who has some anxiety about going to school a decade after I had already been in school. I was definitely a flight risk for not joining. However, when I requested information from Rasmussen, they immediately were on the ball with helping me to cement my goals into a concrete plan. Most importantly, they helped me to realize they could happen much sooner than later.
Id like to give a shout out to the people who assisted me in starting. Donna, Bryan, Andrea, and a few other's that stayed on top of things in my emails... haha so many emails! They were really crucial though, to helping me get everything done in such a short time so that I could start, and have the soonest graduation date possible. I really appreciate that! This was really a priority for me with my already busy schedule. Not only did they help me to stay on top of things, they were a real resource of positive support and motivation. Every time I spoke with them I felt like I could do it, and I think that's really a fundamental part of their jobs! So well done to them! Thank you everyone!
If someone is really committed to work hard at this school, and lean into the people and resources that are there for our success, they will do great things at Rasmussen! I am excited and thrilled to be at the beginning of my own journey here, and able to count myself...
Read moreI want to start by saying that throughout this Pandemic, Rasmussen has had a structured plan and ensured students get to continue with our education despite the unprecedented times we have encountered all of 2020. It has not been easy doing all of this virtually, but I'm thankful we have got to continue on in our education journey even though it has not been the easiest. GREAT JOB on handling everything this year, Rasmussen. Now, as with any college, there are downs that accompany the ups. NO PLACE IS PERFECT THOUGH, so I wish people would consider that more often. I know It is a really expensive school to go to, however, you have to consider the pros and cons which are individual basis. It is worth it for their Accelerated programs! I am in the Rasmussen University School of Nursing at Ocala, and I am glad I chose this school to continue my nursing journey! It is an overall great program. I have not got to utilize many of the on campus nursing resources like our School of Nursing campus, SIM LAB, or student lounge/student center since COVID interrupted our year...which has made it difficult to learn some things since I am a hands on learner, however, I try and understand the protocol they have been following to ensure EVERYONES safety and we ALL just have to get through these times as best as we can. As for instructors...I want to take a moment to name a few of the BEST I have had... Heather Gifford Smith, Barbara Ratte, Melissa Browne, Stephanie Lacey and Shantal Bracey (these professors are each 10/10 in my book). A special thank you to these hardworking professors at Rasmussen, who are what I believe are a direct representation of what Nursing...
Read moreI would not recommend going to the school. I went to the school for two years and, in the end, did not accomplish my goal. I had enough credits and classes to test for the LPN NCLEX, but the school would not release my records. When I met with the dean, Via, zoom she was sick at home. She had none of my records in front of me to tell her why I couldn’t test. Months went by, and I Asked for more information with no response. Finally, she responded and told me I did not meet the requirements, which was a lie. I had to go through unnecessary things with the board of nursing to get them to appeal the judgment. I went to Jacksonville for 15 minutes just for them to grant what I was asking for because I did meet the requirements. I was out of school for a year before I could challenge the LPN NCLEX, which I passed. If the school had released my records, I would have had a higher-paying job by now. I accumulated all this debt while schooling, but they couldn't release my records. Even while I was at school, there were all types of favoritism. I know of people who didn’t have to take their ATI. They reviewed with the dean, and they passed. Also, to be able to retake your ATI, you are supposed to do remediation. I know of people who did not have that requirement. Also, they say they do not round up on anything except on tests, but they do for their favorites to help people pass. They also said they don’t accept work over seven days old. Sometimes, I was one day late, and they marked it as a zero and would not let me make it up. But other people were allowed, and they even rounded up to pass the class. Make sure you look into the school before you...
