May 14, 2022 (5:41p) @ Key Food Supermarket Ocala, FL.... Since when do persons in the business of serving food get to be impatient w/ the customer. Yes, it's busy; Yes, you've been on your feet all day, most likely in constant motion all day, & Yes you get customers like me, born & raised, not only in the USA, But, ALSO right here in Marion County whose native language IS NOT Spanish. So, as I'm working w/ you as -- one who's 1st language IS NOT English -- I know you where hired w/ the understanding of 2 very BASIC things. 1st you are in the USA where English lS the official language and 2nd, you would encounter English ONLY speaking customers on occasion. So, here is what I know, there is upon hire an expectation that you be able to communicate, not ONLY in your native tongue but ALSO in English in some manner. Or else you would not be placed in a position to interact w/ customers. That said, I chose today to keep my $$ in my pocket and leave the 2 $14.99 per plate oxtail meals w/ an extra side of plantains with the young women who seemed a bit agitated by delayed timing in trying to decide EXACTLY what I want. One of the things that most frustrate me in the climate in which we live today, is the lack of professionalism AND the EXTREME disregard 4 customer service. It really is just basic manners;. Customer service still reigns supreme and has value. Not only was the food service not up to par, but how bout the cashier decides to enjoy her cookie snak before I could enter by debit card pin & get my receipt.. but hold on she never parted her lips to say thanks. Not to worry though, I did make sure to say"your welcome" after she provided my receipt. See what I mean ๐ on customer service. Finally, to the managers/owners of Key Food Supermarket Ocala it is important for those persons hired 2 represent you & the Key Foods brand to know this -- "the credibility and image that has been built, that you have built, is NOT theirs to squander." ...an Ocala native who remembers when your current location was a...
ย ย ย Read moreIโm incredibly disappointed by the rude and unprofessional customer service my mother experienced at Key Food Supermarket on 8/30/24 around 2:30 pm. She went to return a yam that she had bought to make soup for me while I was sick. Unfortunately, when she cut the yam, it was rotten. She couldn't return it the next day because she doesn't drive, and I was too ill to take her back to the store.
When I finally dropped her off to return the spoiled item, they gave her an unnecessarily hard time. The manager was called, and his behavior was nothing short of arrogant and unprofessional. He accused my mother of cooking part of the yam, even though she told him that she did not. He then demanded the cashier weigh the yam, and when the weight turned out to be correct, he accused her of returning a white yam instead of a yellow one, even though the receipt had an error on their part.
It was absolutely unnecessary to make a scene over something that cost less than $9. Not only did the manager insult my mother, but he also humiliated her in front of other customers. His behavior made my mother feel targeted, and it seemed like he has an issue with black customers or lacks basic customer service skills.
We used to be loyal customers of Key Food, especially since itโs a go-to in Brooklyn, but after witnessing the way my mother was treated, I will never shop there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. No one should have to endure this kind of disrespect, especially over a...
