A very simple but pleasant park in Occuquan River Mill Park is located in Occoquan at the end of Mill Street Road and next to the Mill House Museum and the footbridge. It is really a picturesque gem offering both tranquility and beautiful view of the Occoquan River. Accessible from Mill Street, the park provides ample parking nearby, though it can get busy on weekends. Once parked, a short walk leads you to the park entrance with a building with facilities. The park is a large, flat open grassy area with an overlook on the river about 100 feet above the river. The park's features are diverse, catering to various interests. Families enjoy picnicking on the grassy areas while history buffs appreciate the interpretive signage detailing Occoquan's past as a mill town. The highlight of River Mill Park is undoubtedly its stunning view of the Occoquan River in both directions. Benches along the boardwalk offer ideal spots to relax and soak in the serene waterscape, dotted with boats and wildlife. There is a small stage with a fabric covering in the middle and a sign that spells, “LOVE” that people can take pictures with. Overall, River Mill Park impresses with its accessibility, family-friendly amenities, and scenic riverside charm, making it a delightful destination for locals and visitors seeking a blend of relaxation and outdoor adventure...
