Do your kids like nature? If they do, this is the perfect place for them! Not only are the play structures fun to run around on, but there’s a 1/2 mile paved path around the lake where you’ll find all sorts of animal life. We saw turtles, ducks, and cranes and even watched a crane catch a fish and swallow it whole! I really want to give this park a higher rating, but the bathrooms really need improvements in order for me to add another star! 📍504 Calle Montecito, Oceanside, CA 92057 🚙Free street parking 💰This park is free 🎠The 2 play structures are built on a mulch ground surface and has both standard and bucket swings. No shaded canopies over playground. 🚽There are restrooms but they don’t offer much privacy. They are kind of just brick walls with a toilet and sink (that doesn’t even work) 🧺Multiple picnic tables under pavilion 🪑Park benches at playground 🏖Playground is near the beach 🖼Lawn 🌳Shady trees 🛣Good distance away from busy roads 🚲Paved path perfect for small bikes, scooters, roller blades, and strollers 🦆Bring some food to feed the ducks 🛹Mini skate park across the street 🏐Sand volleyball court

Park has become better over the years. I grew up in the neighborhood next to here and Libby Elementary (almost 40 years). It used to be way more dangerous with the gangs. Even during the day, I could be weary about going through. Nowadays, I recommend avoiding going at night, even just before sunset. The playground and picnic area have been improved over the years. I'll also see people walking their dogs.

This park is a little oasis. A paved path around a small pond with ducks, birds and turtles! There's a playground and covered picnic area, and free street parking. BUT the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired (see pics)- no door on the bathroom stall and the outside door is a steel grate that was chained open. Absolutely no privacy or safety.

The city needs to renovate the skatepark at this place. The ramps, banks, and boxes are all rusted/chipped/uneven and have become safety hazards. Along with that, whoever chose/arranged the obstacles for this place clearly does not understand skateboarding. Oceanside is a city with a heavy presence in skateboarding history and it would be cool for every skatepark to reflect that. This park is a borderline insult to skateboarders with its cheap and lackluster design.

With the problems that this park faces, a well-functioning skatepark can help bring a positive atmosphere. Look at what Linda Vista Skatepark did. It doesn’t need to be large or state-of-the-art, it just needs to be appealing! There are plenty of skateboarders and companies in the Oceanside community who would participate in the renovation of this place. There are baseball fields, soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, etc. EVERYWHERE. It’s time to start giving the skateboarders the focus...

I take walks and run around Libby Lake, I like it and the variety of birds are pleasent. Sadly people don't care for it as much as it should so there is a lot a trash. Other than that it is nice and pleasent, haven't had any issues. I do see wana be gangsters but they don't do much. I lived in South Central, Compton, Watts, and Inglewood, I walked those streets at night. I hear talk bad about Oceanside I think those people haven't experienced bad neighborhoods, beleive me I came here to get away from that I wouldn't move to a bad...
