Mance Buchanon Park — Attraction in Oceanside

This is a great place to access the SLRv bicycle trail. You can ride it about 7.5 miles West to the ocean or a little over two miles East to Guajome Park. It even has a bike repair station near the on ramp for the trail. There are bathrooms and benches. There are probably tables in places (it is a large park). There is a trail to walk or jog all around the perimeter. There is a Junior High School at the West End of the park and lots of playing fields, some climbing structures and a basketball court (I think). I use it mostly in the late morning too early afternoon on week days so parking is easy. The park is so beautiful that it must get crowded on weekends with youth soccer games. Mance Buchanon Park is a great place for families. The park is large. There is a running trail around the park and a large playground for kids to play. There are two bathroom buildings that are usually pretty clean. There are picnic tables all throughout the park. You will find lots of shade under the trees around the park as well. The park connects to the San Luis Rey River trail. Soccer games are Saturdays and Sundays. Weekdays the fields are open until early evening. Great place to get some fresh air...

Excellent park for sports and walking a dog. Clean facilities and plenty of parking. Unique trails that follow the river and under the bridge. My dog loves this park, and there's plenty of bushes for her to pee on lol.. The park features plenty of dog poop bags, but I wish everyone who brings their dog would use them. One down side..
