I have been playing at Melba Bishop for two years and have found it very welcoming both to the snowbird community that arrives every winter as well as local pickleball players. When I started playing this crazy fun game everyone at Melba was willing to help me learn the game. I now go out of my way to make sure and welcome both new players and the more experienced. Read moreI am new to pickle ball. I used to play tennis but haven't for quite some time. I am disappointed that these courts are kept locked and no key available unless you are a "member". Open hours are very limited. My understanding is that this is a recreation center available to the public. I know people who have joined this club only to be harassed by other members that they "don't like beginners". One woman ended up in tears. In spite of being members, they stopped going. The time we were there on a beautiful afternoon, the courts were EMPTY and all locked up. Bad news folks. Looks like a great public facility but not really available...
