The picnic area has comfortable tables. The restrooms are clean. There are music instruments for kids to play and a human sun dial in the pavement. The sun dial works when you stand on the current month marker and your shadow is cast on the time of day. There is not a playground or anything else for kids. There is a gas fire pit that can be turned on by anyone. It is pretty cool. Parking is nice and the whole area is safe. The benches swing and are nice for relaxing. The water access is not developed much at this time, but I believe it will be in the future. There are freight trains that barrel through frequently and blast their horns right by the park. Read moreI have had a terrible experience here. It seems like some homeless people like to smoke in the showers. A lot of elderly frequent the spot. I have seen blood on the walls of the showers. You have to pay $.25 to use the shower, and that's not a problem, however the shower head is broken on one of the showers. It seems also that it always has leftover soaps, cigarette butts, some people leave there clothes and attendant said he is a volunteer and didn't have any change for the machine. Not sure if the cameras work, because the activities that be going on be quite suspicious. I think I even found a syringe. I see children coming around here and it's a nice view, however some of the people are not people I would want my children...
Read morePeaceful and absolutely gorgous view of Lake Onalaska and the Mississippi River. Nice access to restrooms, drinking water, beverage machine and tire pump. There is also a tourism office with posted office hours. It's a very nice, clean and "fresh feel" area. This place has a gorgous view of sunsets over the spillway...
