Community Market of E Alabama — Attraction in Opelika

I came in today I took my license and proof of my power bill for residence and I was handed a piece of paper that’s says a families of 3+ get 100 pounds of groceries and five packs of small meats and five packs of large meats there is four in my family well I did everything I was supposed to do and then when I got up to the check out place to get my items weighed I was told I had to put back two of the meets because I’m only allowed to have eight which didn’t make sense and I tried to tell the other woman that this woman I don’t think she knows what she’s doing she said yes she knows what she’s doing but I was told we can get 10 meats she said no it’s only eight ok so she finishes weighing in my items and she goes and writes it down on the paper 65 pounds and then the other woman I think she said I i’m allowed to get 10 or 12 more pounds not quite sure which one she said I told her no I’m good I’m fine and then the woman weighing said oh no she supposed to have 100 pounds and she Is supposed to have 10 meats well by that time I told them I was good you already embarrass me I’m...

Our experience with this food pantry has been a real blessing, especially when I was without a job for five months. Yes, some of the food is outdated, but it’s free so nobody should complain about that unless they get sick. We have never gotten sick from any of the food, but sometimes something like chips would be stale so we would just throw them away. One of the best items I have gotten is an abundance of organic produce, and meat, which would cost a lot at the grocery store. Everyone who works there has been friendly, compassionate and helpful and I pray that our LORD keeps in his food pantry open for years to come to help many in the community who...

Although u have to watch the foods you pick out because some of them like refrigerator salads for example are not any good to eat, I do still have to give Community Market 5 stars because they are in it to win it.... Fight against hunger 💪 this place is most definitely doing that with love...
