Orange Beach Marina — Attraction in Orange Beach

I took my 12-year old son parasailing for his first time yesterday. We specifically chose this company based on the reviews I read here, so it is really important that you be aware of the situation we encountered.

First, the driver of the boat was playing very loud music the entire trip. We wanted to enjoy the beautiful ocean, but the music was too loud (I like loud music, and it was even too loud for me). There were swear words in the music. My son pointed this out to me so I know he noticed them. THEN the company employee swore in front of my son as well (and not swear words you'd hear on primetime TV - much worse).

I've been parasailing twice before. In my experience you should expect to have your feet and maybe your legs up to your knees get wet. This company completely dunked my son and I and drug us through the water. My son was completely submerged and I was up to my forehead. This was near a spot where we had just observed a large jellyfish. It was NOT PLEASANT.

When we got back to our condo, my wife called to discuss the swearing and the fact that my son was dunked without asking his permission. The company wouldn't answer the phone, but when she called with a different cell phone than what she used to make the reservation (right after calling with the original phone) they immediately picked up. I have to assume they were screening the calls.

So unless you want to be dragged through the water, have your children subjected to swearing, and listen to loud inappropriate music, I recommend you NOT utilize this company. We have tried to contact the owner, and they have chosen to not return our calls despite my request to speak with them. If I could give less than 1 star I would do so. I would still welcome a return phone call so I can share my dissatisfaction directly...

Our experience started out bad and just got worse. The first pontoon they put us in was leaning to one side real bad and they kept telling is it was ok to take. Well our friend out his foot down and told them he wanted a different boat, all the while our time is already underway for our rental. So they finally switch is to another boat and the guy tells us this boat is just overhauled and should be fine. So we loaded up on that one and now it's 20 minutes into our rental time so they told us to come back 30 minutes later, which was cool! The boat they gave us was an upgrade too! Kudos!! They we get out in the open water and this boat starts choking and chugging and we started feeling uncomfortable riding out further so we turned around and headed back in for a full refund and then it just started working correctly so we turned back around and enjoyed the rest of little time we had for our rental time. Had a wonderful experience in Perdido Keys parasailing. The crew of Donnie, Jessica, 2 Jason and Brandon we're awesome. Captain Jason did a wonderful job of navigating the boat and giving us a beautiful view of Perdido Keys. They are very experienced and know how to give you the most out of your parasailing experience. Brandon took some incredible pictures that will be able to treasure for years to come.

You can choose lots of different companies to go parasailing in the Orange Beach area but Donnie's been doing this for over 30 years and you can tell he is a professional at what he does.
