Read morePros - nice location, friendly dogs. Offered fresh corn and pumpkins. Cons - we should have stuck to the tasting wines when purchasing. We decided to purchase a bottle of the Cab Franc which we did taste and the older Pinot Noir which was not available for tasting. Bill $100+. But, I've had nice pinots from Oregon previously, so considered it a safe bet. Got back to our campsite, two bottles of Pinot in the bag. No Cab Franc. Too late to correct as we were heading out early the next morning. Decided to try the older Pinot. Definitely corked. Really bad. Now, debating whether to try the other bottle. Free corn - took four ears, three had a good size worm. Not a huge deal - my family grew corn. It happens. But, while we loved the state park, we will definitely pass on a winery...
Read moreIf you go, it is wise to call first and see when they have tastings. We went assuming, like every other winery, they'd have tastings as listed on their website. However, we got there during "happy hour" and they don't do tastings during that time. The only serve two wines for $8 each - a very weak white wine and a "red blend" which was simply awful. The woman providing the music was excellent, but the volume was way too loud. All of that is too bad. I like their wines, but going to their winery is a huge disappointment. How a winery cannot do tastings to promote their wines on a weekend afternoon - when they will be very busy - is bad marketing. This, and the awful wine we drank left a bad taste in our mouths.
