Live Church — Attraction in Orlando

My friend Monique and I were traveling to Orlando for a friend’s wedding this weekend. Before heading over to the wedding venue, we stopped by Live to go to Sunday service (and ended up being late to the ceremony. Oops. 😂 It’s okay though. God wanted us to be here).

Anyway, real candid review: I’ve been to a lot of different churches in the last decade with various cultural/ethnic backgrounds and styles of worship. So I know when service is a performance instead of preaching and praise. Live was far from that. I elbowed Monique and was like, “That pastor’s a David. He know dang well if this room was empty with no one to watch him, he’d still be praising God the same way he’s worshipping Him now.”

If you’re struggling to find a church home in Orlando, this place looks like a good one. Not too big or too small (especially for the south, says the Bostonian 🤭). The worship is lit. 🔥 People on fire for Jesus and the pastor calls out sin for what it truly is. He wasn’t sugar coating nothing. Highly disappointed in this past Easter service with Pastor Tye Tribbet. It felt more like a concert rather than a Sunday Service. I wasn't sure if they were promoting an album or God. There was also a baby dedication that lasted longer than 40 minutes. Now, I'm not saying there should be a specific time limit on a baby dedication, but if you notice the children being dedicated are getting restless and their parents are walking them back to their seats, it's time to read the room and wrap it up! We were two hours into service and no actual message was delivered. Anytime we thought he going to start preaching, he broke out into song. This was a Sunday school musical, at best. When I spoke to regulars of this church they stated this is not uncommon behavior. Bringing my Bible was futile because not one scripture was read. Such a shame, Easter is the one time of the year when you can reach newcomers and deliver a powerful message. Overall the service was disorganized and unfulfilling. I was so fortunate to visit this church on Mother’s Day and it was soo phenomenal. From the praise and worship to the message all the way to the benediction! It’s not your normal programmed church and I love that! Pastor Tye allows the Holy Spirit to flow and with doing that there are no limits on God! We can to Florida to celebrate my daughters 5 birthday at Disney world and weren’t leaving until Monday. So I knew I wanted to be in the house of the lord on Sunday! And my God my spirit was definitely filled! Praying for the Pastor and his beautiful wife who was also dropping gems that service as well! Blessings on continually building up Gods kingdom for souls!
