Jesse’s Rib Shack — Restaurant in Orlando

HORRIBLE FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE!! On Sunday, I chose to try this restaurant out for the first time. I placed my order online. Prior to doing so, I spoke with a representative on the phone who was very pleasant and they assured me that the food would be cooked and prepared fresh. I then placed my order online. The total was $60. Upon arrival my order was already boxed and tied up. That should have been the first sign that the food was not freshly cooked. This is important because of what this company charges for their items. The pictures all look great but is far from what you receive when you get your food TO GO. I ordered Fried Lobster for $15 and got two tiny pieces of old fried lobster that looked more like shrimp. I ordered 12 shrimp and got the twelve, but they were also old shrimp, not freshly fried. I ordered 4 sides and only got 1, I ordered the fried crab legs for $12 and got 4 tiny snow crab legs! I ordered 8 wings and those were the only thing that was worth ordering. After driving home and discovering that my order was ill prepared, I called. The first female who answered the phone said she was a manager, I asked for the owner, she said she wasn't at the store, then after hearing my complaint, she spoke to another female and told her to handle me. The female then got on the call and said she was the owner. I immediately asked why did the manager say you weren't there. She made up an excuse but at this juncture I just wanted my order replaced. I began telling her again my displeasure and she all but called me a liar, she began yelling and speaking to me loudly on the phone getting puffed up saying that my order was unimportant to her because she runs food trucks and as far as she is concerned I don't have to comeback to her store. She spoke ill of me being associated with a church, because I complained about what I received for $60. She then proceeded to hang up on me, this for the 2nd time. I remained calmed, called my back to file a claim against them, and wrote this review. Maybe when they first opened they were a good restaurant, but they are far from that now. Owning a business is not just about selling a product but customer service and this company and staff no nothing about either! One thing is certain I will never darken their doorstep again. I'm all for Black owned businesses, but I'm NOT for any business mistreating, mishandling and disrespecting any consumer that patronizes them. BUYER BEWARE! This place so lucky you have to give them 1 star to write a review. People please DO NOT STOP HERE AT ALL... The food is pricey for the lowest grade of food and no flavor , and so so dry. This food is a few days old food thats being heated and served again. The cashier is rude and knows nothing about the food being severed there so asking questions about the food is out of her league. She obviously hates interracial couples because when me and my husband walked in she looked at my husband and smile and looked at me with pure discuss and rolled her eyes at me. What ever. When we thought that topped it all off for us to never go there again, well surprise, surprise that's not the main real reason K WILL NEVER GO THERE, I DONT EVEN WANT TO DRIVE PAST IT. Me and my husband order 2 lunch specials just before the lunch rush so we can get our food fast. We both order ribs tips, mac & cheese, coleslaw & a diet coke. 34 mins later we get 2 lunch specials with whole ribs with french fries and 2 cokes smh. Needless to say i was just furious & over it all, not only she messed up our order, gave us no diet coke, treated me horrible, it was not even that hot. My husband figure they just messed up the order we will just SETTLE because WE WERE SO HUNGRY. My husband began to eat we both did but we needed our diet cokes we both can't do regular soda. Soooooooo we called the girl over to change our soda she looks at our order saying omg i will bring you the right order. She brings our correct order and diet soda after 5 minutes and places the wrong order on counter. 8 minutes into us eating, two gentlemen came in and said we call in a order for Mark. OMG she gladly hands over the food me and my husband was given the first time where we had started to eat!!! I stopped eating I Could no long take another bite. Health Code Violation.... they need to be shut down...🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 We ask to speak to the boss man, he came out like we was a inconvenience and he was just as rude as the girl in front. I loved the fact that the food reminds me of a home BBQ! I also enjoyed seeing the smoke coming out of the back of the building! It was definitely authentic.

I just wish the food was served in plates and the utensils weren’t plastic but I get the concept they were going for. I also have to point out that the staff was not very friendly and it didn’t really make me feel comfortable, a smile goes a LONG way! They almost seemed bothered that we walked in. The owner was in the middle of the restaurant looking at “the books” and didn’t really acknowledged you were in the building.

I also didn’t really get why I was served a piece of “wonder-bread” with my meal instead of incorporating a better piece of bread with the meal; it was underneath the ribs so by the time I got to it, it was really soggy!

For the price they charge I would expect a better atmosphere, better dinnerware; just a much more put together meal...
