No doubt, my recent visit to Universal Studios left an indelible mark. The Mummy Coaster, inspired by the original film, offers an incredible blend of comedy and horror. As I stood in line, watching Brendan Fraser and the talented cast, I was thoroughly entertained. The attention to detail in the set design, reminiscent of Ancient Egypt, was outstanding.
The ride itself? PHENOMENAL. The uncertainty, the heat, and the anticipation of what lay ahead—it’s a roller coaster of emotions. While the experience is short-lived, it never ceases to entertain. The twists, turns, and reversals keep you on the edge of your seat. For those seeking a thrilling ride, the single rider line is the way to go.
Now, let’s talk logistics. The basement section can get quite hot, so be prepared. However, this coaster remains one of the highlights of Universal Studios. Since its renovations about a year ago, it has operated seamlessly. The lighting effects add to the immersive experience, although occasionally the animatronics may not be in action.
And here’s a fun tip: If you spot a box with two hand placements, try synchronizing your hand placement with someone else’s and then look up—the result is a pretty cool effect!
As someone with a touch of roller coaster anxiety, I found the Mummy Coaster to be the perfect balance of thrill. Initially nervous, I soon realized it was an absolute blast. The drops, while not towering, still deliver that exhilarating rush. Plus, the theming is simply awesome, and the ride itself is remarkably smooth.
In summary, the Mummy Coaster is a must-ride for any theme park enthusiast. Universal Studios has truly created a gem with...

we have visited this in off season so it was only 10 minutes wait for us. Lucky us :) as people have waited even 2-3 hours for this ride in peak season. before visiting you need to stow away your belongings and Locker is free, It is in sync with your waiting time till you come back so don't worry ;)
It's an indoor steel roller coaster ride in the dark with fire, sound effects, and mummies! coaster with a launch drop, small drop, and a backward motion that does not last long. There is a section where the ride comes to a stop rather abruptly and I know that can be jarring for some. So just be wary of that, so sit firmly and comfortably while holding on securely. Perfect amount of speed and is broken up well with environmental effects and animatronics. When the flames come out of the ceiling you feel as if you are about to get roasted! Then launched back into the dark with the wind at your face. Such a great mix of effects and thrills. Going forward, backward, scares, a scarab attack, mummies, and great sound effects. There is always smiles on people's faces after riding this ride and there is a reason for that.
It is definitely somewhat intense by roller coaster standards, with sharp turns and drops making it reasonably rough. However, the build-up is exceptional and the coaster is thrilling. what I think is ride is so jerky and you have no idea where it is going next to position yourself.
Definitely one of my most recommended ride...
Read moreThis is the best indoor roller coaster I've ever been on. The intensity level ranks up near Space Mountain, but the resemblance ends there. Going through the queue, a Mummy movie set morphs into a very real seeming Egyptian catacomb. There are many interactive elements that you can use to scare unsuspecting guests that are stuck in the earlier parts of the queue. Once you make it to the loading platform, you'll board a clunky jeep that's in the same style of the Dinosaur Time Machine and your trip begins. I'm not going to spoil the ride, but there is a lot of fire and a great start to the roller coaster part of the ride. The ending is amazing, people who have ridden this will know what I'm talking about. This ride rivals Rip Ride Rockit for the title of the best ride in the park in my opinion, and even though the ride isn't terribly intense, the theming is great. Lines are long, but the Jeeps carry a lot of people and the dispatch interval rivals Rip Ride Rockit for speed. Finally, look at the employees when they give their "area clear" signal, specifically, their thumbs. This is a ride that I would recommend to anyone who wasn't afraid of dark areas, loud roaring, Mummies, and sharp turns (no inversions on this ride). Edit: I rode the one at Universal Orlando. I'm not sure about how the one in California compares to it, but hopefully I can...
