Okay Today Cafe… today, I know you can and will likely do better. This particular trip was wrought I’m with failures. We were order #24 which was going to be an order for four people. Placed the order and we’re told one of the sandwiches wasn’t able to be ordered. So, we swapped—no big deal. Until after waiting for a while in the chaos of the small shop with lots of other people getting their orders that we finally got a table and continued to wait. All but one of the sandwiches came out. So, after waiting and most of the party was half way through their meal, we asked again about the sandwich only to find out they were now out of that sandwich too. I will add here that the staff had an apparent turnover and those that were trying to carry the shift on their own were very friendly. So, I simply asked for another sandwich that was the same price. They obliged and after waiting a bit more, a sandwich finally arrived—with substitutions and mot looking like what was ordered. I’m not upset with this as it was a tasty and fresh sandwich. I mostly felt for the friendly crew that was clearly understaffed. I know these employees could’ve offered a 4.5 star experience if they hadn’t had management leave them high and dry.

This is probably one of the most underrated places to eat in the Universal Parks. They really have some great options, everything from sandwiches to salads to even an açaí bowl! So it’s actually pretty healthy stuff, which is hard to find when eating at amusement parks and I really appreciated it. They have a lot of fun assortments of desserts and pastries as well, although you have to be careful what you pick because a lot of them are mass processed stuff so it’s not always great tasting or high quality. For example, the key lime tart, it had great flavor but the crust was super soggy because it sat out in the display case for who knows how long. But I got the avocado toast and that was fantastic. You have the option to get fruit with it too, which I’d definitely recommend over the potato salad. There’s a nice outdoor seating area too where you can just people watch, and it’s fascinating. They do have a dine-in option even though this says otherwise. You can also do an order through the app and they will bring it out to where you’re sitting and you don’t even have to stand in line. (All prices at theme parks are stupid high so I chose not to comment on that)

GOOD: — Fresh food that tasted great! The menu had options for those eating a little healthy and those not (thank you!). — Attractive, mid century design with indoor and outdoor seating. BAD: Similar to other Universal restaurants, while the mobile ordering via the resort’s companion app flawless, the actual picking up is awkward. The signage clearly designates where to pick up, but said sign hangs over a cashier focused on in person ordering. This leads to a crowd of guests holding up their “order is ready” notifications and not knowing what to do. I appreciate the effort and I hope to see separate queues in the future that equal the caliber of the awesome app. SUMMARY: — Mobile pickup troubles aside, I would still recommend this restaurant, especially with the wide menu.

Very disappointed, yes park cafe can be busy but still have better customer service than the way we were treated. I always ask about my food allergy questions. When I tried to ask this older lady about the meal it’s like she brushed me off said the Hoda sandwich fine didn’t check what so ever. She was rude whenever we asked her other questions about the food too. We were number 32 on the 7th January. Took ages to get our sandwich we got our cake first that was bone dry. 30 min later we still didn’t receive our sandwich and when you are on the go that’s far to long, I had to go in ask where it was and told them how rude she was brushing me off with the food allergy question. A girl said she would find out what’s going on we heard back from a manager he apologized for the wait and was going to check on it at that point we told him we didn’t want to wait any longer for one sandwich. We asked for a refund he took ages for the refund to be returned so I had to ask another girl what’s taking him so long. At this point we were very angry how long the service took and the way we were treated do not come to this place if your trying to enjoy...
