Kind & friendly staff get to k ow their boarders. Nice facility. Looking forward to meeting lots of furry friends & coming home exhausted from having so much fun at daycare!
Update summer 2025. Having taken my dog to Dogtopia in northern VA for 2 years, I was surprised by the financial policies (& higher prices) than that of NOVA when I first started using this location in 2023. However, my pooch loves being social, and it was convenient, so I continued despite how I felt.
They recently upgraded their app, & I thought that canceling an appointment using their app (which they admitted was having hiccups about other things) would enable cancellation. It did not. They charged the entire amount for the day & when I called shortly after being charged, they would not accommodate a refund to their rate for not attending (this is what I disagreed with in the first place - a charge to maintain status & discounted rate regardless of attendance). Yes, they’d told me in the past to call for cancellations, but they’d just upgraded their app & I used it because it was more convenient for me, being out of town. Shame on them for having that option available when it’s not really an option.
Since I disagreed with their ‘pay a specific amount every week to maintain your status for the discounted rate’ policy from the start, this response and charge was the end of our relationship with this Dogtopia franchise.
The staff in Oro Valley knew Reggie & I appreciated how much he enjoyed being there. Thank you to those folks for making us feel welcome most of the time.
We will find another place that values their long term clients more than their policies and treats others as they’d like...

Upon speaking to the manager, the revelation of some sort of renovation which reduced capacity was in progress.
This business is poorly managed.
Changes, renovations, staff shortages or whatever could simply be announced with a blanket email with a fill in the blank. Customers that make plans and drive to the business to redeem PREPAID service need to be warned rather than given insult to injury. My plans for the day ended abruptly at a monetary cost.
No alternative or creative problem solving was offered, just “sorry we can’t help you”… and we already have the money, so we have no interest in helping you.
Seems like it could be a good operation; maybe the business owner can apply some elbow grease to the weak management they have enabled.
Otherwise, hopefully local dog owners can find a better daycare provider.
UNFORTUNATE UPDATE: Called to ensure this wouldn’t happen again (I’m not the direct customer, but I have to use the service for my friends dog) and got a justification attempt instead of reassurance that it wouldn’t happen again.
OWNERS: please read the above as an opportunity to train your staff and develop systems to avoid this.
Surely this isn’t an “open a business, then walk away and let kids run it” situation, otherwise something requiring such care and dedicated customer service wouldn’t have...
Read moreBefore I explain why I gave a two star rating let me start off by saying this.. This is a great place. very clean, very nice employees, very nice facilities, and great rooms for the dogs. What is so disappointing, is that despite what I am about to explain, I am still interested in using Dogtopia!
A couple of days ago I brought in my two dogs for a meet and greet. During the meet and greet the dogs must pass an evaluation consisting of meeting other dogs, and comfortability in a crate. My little 2 year old whippet mix passed. My docile, calm 9 year old border collie mix however, did not. What bothered me is that my dog has extreme anxiety and was not initially comfortable in the crate, but instead of trying again or moving on to the rest of the evaluation, they just gave up on her. When I asked the employees if I could speak to one of their trainers, they told me they didn't even have one on site... only at the Tanque Verde location, which is inconvenient for me. I was willing to pay a GOOD chunk of money to enroll my 2 dogs in DAYCARE, BOARDING, AND TRAINING. I guess this is their loss. I am still willing to use Dogtopia because of the great facilities and friendly atmosphere. I think the evaluation process needs to be done by a professional who will not take a dogs behavior personally. The girl who did the evaluation almost gave me whiplash with her sudden change of mood when she handed my dog back.
DOGTOPIA, ARE YOU WILLING...
