Been stopping here for over ten years now; and it never changes. The little caves people dug into the soft rock to live in during the depression or some of the miners who preceded them. It is fascinating to see how they used such limited goods to survive. There are piles of rusting cans and other junk as well as a small cemetery to remind us of our mortality. If you are in the area or going to Death Valley it is definitely worth the short trip to look at this and wonder how people survived in the summer heat out here. While the caves haven't changed the fences you can see in the photos were not there ten years ago. Someone is attempting to preserve the area...

If you are passing by Shoshone California, you should stop by and discover the Dublin Gulch. It’s an interesting piece of the Mojave desert history. You can walk around and see the dwellings carved in to the soft rock cliff faces. Shoshone has an excellent museum that will supplement information about the community. You should plan to spend at least 30 minutes here. It located off the 127 Highway on the way to Death Valley. It is fun place for kids and...

This place was cool but unfortunately people have trashed it. There's trash and broken glass bottles all over. It broke my heart that people would treat their historical landmarks that way. Because of that they have locked up all the entrances and you can no longer get inside to see the tunnels so I'll have to go off pictures from the past. Fun to walk around and try to peek through the locked areas to see through to the...

An underrated historic landmark that's super cool to check out and imagining what it's like to be a pioneer that stayed here for a couple nights to rest up. Google maps doesn't really have the best directions on how to get there but there's a cemetery off the main highway and next to it is a road leading to the Gulch! Have fun and stay safe 😊
