I went to PMR because of their good reviews, and on their website, they say “We pay up to 40% higher than our competitors”. I thought this would be the place to try. I had an estimated offer between $1200-1500 already from an LA area jeweler for my diamond ring, but I was wondering if this company could offer me a higher price. I went to the Palm Desert office where I met IRMA. I showed her my diamond ring that I seldom wore and would like to sell. I had a bad experience with IRMA. She treated me terribly unfairly. IRMA told me my ring’s clarity and color were 3 whole grades lower than my appraisal on my certificates. She even gave me the microscope to check my own diamond and how bad my diamond ring was. IRMA took my diamond ring outside the room, showed the ring to her colleague, and asked him if my ring deserved a lower grade. IRMA came back to the room and she told me, her colleague said also yes your ring is lower grade than its certificate stated. I told her that I had already gotten a quote online offer already based on my appraisal certificate. She said most online offers are not a guarantee until you see in person to see the diamond. She kept telling me my diamond ring is lower grade than appraisal. IRMA offered me $300 for my diamond ring. I said No thank you and left. The next day I went to LA and sold that same diamond ring for $1400. The LA Jeweler checked my ring and did not appraise it any grade lower than my ring’s original appraisal certificate. $300 or $1400, who would you trust to appraise...
Read moreHaving, in the past, sold some gold via Internet shops my expectations were low. I came in with a collection of truly beat up silver plate serving pieces, candlesticks, et. al. in a box too large and junky to ship anywhere. Every piece was tarnished beyond recognition. The team at PMR inspected each piece with jeweler’s loupe for markings, some sort of analysis tool on questionable items, and carefully categorized and weighed each piece. The goal is to determine the probable recovery of valuable metals. I assumed they would give me an estimate and I would then get what I was going to get sometime after everything was smelted down. Instead, they offered me a cash value figure on the spot that was surprisingly generous. Had I carefully polished each piece (many were damaged), taken photos, and tried to find a buyer on eBay, there is still no way I would have recovered more cash than I did from PMR. Do not throw away that old junk! Take it to PMR!
I went back last week and got A++ treatment from Linden Wood. Once again I got a surprising amount of money for some old sterling in poor condition. And, she evaluated a piece I did not want to sell but just wanted an opinion on the value so I could sell it to a friend at a fair price. I highly...
Read moreI have recently gone through a very difficult time with the loss of a parent and I wasn’t sure about what to do with some items that had been handed down. Being very sentimental I was worried about being lied to or outright taken advantage of because I know nothing about precious metals. From the moment I arrived at PMR (Carole T) treated me like I was family. She was incredibly patient going over every detail with me. She made me feel comfortable and confident with whatever decision I made. There was never any pressure, nor did she sales pitch me…. She treated me like an actual person , not a customer or a dollar sign. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to have someone pay attention, listen and do what ever she could to make a tough situation into an enjoyable experience. She is an asset to PMR and to anyone that gets the pleasure of meeting her- ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️...
