S&S Electrical Supply — Attraction in Palmetto

I ordered a contactor labeled as new on eBay. They sent me one that was visibly used but I installed it because I need it, only to find out the coil was bad, so not only used but broken. I contacted them and their response was send it back for a refund. I had already wasted enough time, I told them I wasn't going to go through the effort for $30 minus return shipping, and how frustrated I was having my time wasted by them selling me old, broken parts. What came next was ridiculous and unbelievable. This guy calls me and starts berating me, calling me an idiot, saying I can't read, saying I must be a loser if I'm fixing an AC myself. Unhinged behavior. Truly disgusting people working here. I wouldn't even bother posting this but THEY TEXTED ME asking me to review them! Based on my interactions with them, I fully expect a ranting response to this full of lies.

*The guy responded that I lied? What did I lie about? I didn't lie about anything. Selling old used parts as new is lying. What intentions do I have? I got scammed, berated, then TEXTED FOR A REVIEW. Also to clarify, if I had been offered an immediate refund after my first calm and descriptive email, then there would be no issue. But instead of being apologetic, taking responsibility for the mistake, this guy thought it proper to add insult to injury. Nowhere in this response does he take responsibility, only doubles down on the lie that everything they sell is tested. Is it so hard for these people to admit they made a mistake? Is it wiser to instead choose to denigrate...

I'm telling you right now... stop banging your head dealing with the big box shops that know absolutely nothing about your electrical needs particularly when they are charging more. S&S is small...but nimble and will talk to you like a real person.

Yesterday, when a single mother's AC lost its compressor capacitor; S&S didn't have one in stock and neither did the big box stores including ACE..the new ones are hard to find locally to a direct consumer... but the owner had a good used one. He tested the old one I had in hand...confirmed it dead. Then. $5.00 later with a 30 day warranty on a USED PART...my neighbors AC was back up and running (we got a new part on the way and will swap it asap). What he didn't know? Was that the single mother is a Gold Star Spouse of two children along with therapy dogs that are sensitive to heat. Most companies would have you walk away if they didn't have a new in the box solution because of "policies".

Well, the policy at S&S is customer service and that's what makes me a return...

I was tasked with trying to source an old part for an Alarm Panel at a property I help manage and searched the entire internet high and low trying to find it. It seemed to be an impossible task, and I could not find what we needed ANYWHERE. I stumbled upon this website, and was a little skeptical at first as this was not a company I was familiar with (my immediate thought was, "is this a scam?") But I found what I was looking for almost immediately. The pricing was great, and they sent the part very quickly. We were VERY pleased, (and it saved us thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars by being able to find the part, rather than do a full-on replacement of the panel!) Taking the risk from buying from an unfamiliar source paid out, as not only do we now have the part we needed, but we also have a wonderful new go-to for those hard-to-find parts! Highly recommend S&S Electrical supply- We will be using them whenever possible...
